There may be talks over trade but the EU is definitely not kissing Trumps ass nor is China. As I said above micronesia or somebody may want to do a trade deal with the US but no one will be kissing ass.

Those links don't say what you suggest. Nowhere do they claim that Italy is negotiating a trade deal with the US independent of the EU.

Everyone being critical of tariffs, living in countries that have tariffs on US goods, along with other restrictions. Crazy the hypocricy. The EU with tariffs, Canada with crazy tariffs, Mexico with tariffs, and all of them not getting fvcked by ever rising national debt. Strangely as well, every one of them relying on the US economy and military.

I have to repeat again...China and the EU took this conflict seriously from the start, they haven't folded, flip flopped or kissed US ass as claimed. Trump on the other hand has back tracked several times, tried to turn on the charm after insulting both indicating that he wasnt serious about his strategy. The EU and China have gamed this out and know how to deal with Trump.

I recently read a good book about the Brexit negotiations and one thing that really surprised the British after the Brexit vote was that the EU stuck originally to the principle of negotiating En Bloc. Any attempts to do side deals or drive a wedge between them were just referred back to Brussels (and Donald Tusk who is the EU chair at the time)

The British also had the same idea - that their market was so big and so close that the EU would fold. Never happened.

The same will happen here - there is no way that even a midsize country like Italy, world leader in several industries, will decide they're better off doing their own deal.

And again this f*cked up rhetoric. "Kiss" who's "ring"? Trump's? Trump isn't a "king" and the EU isn't his "vassal". The EU is an independent entity and a trading partner of the US. If you don't like the terms of this trade then they can be negotiated, but why this f*cked up, demeaning rhetoric?

Do you realise that this kind of rhetoric and attitude is one of the things that is making people dislike or even hate the US and Americans? Even if Trump forces the EU to change the tariffs - what good will that do if people in the EU will boycott your products? You want us to buy your products? Then it would be wise not to make us hate you... o_O

But the EU is a comparable size - 19 percent of world GDP and larger than the US in many industries. Why will they be ass kissing ?

Trade war, like real war will be won by the side that is better organized, more professional, and has more clear aims.

Also like real war, it is nuts to start one if it's not obvious that you will win. But that is just what Golden Cow has done

BTW I saw yesterday some US politicians wearing brooches in the shape of golden cows head. That is the kind of mentality that we are dealing with now.
