When you finally stand before God

Impossible...Nobody can stand before God since God is an idea...a concept created by men. See Lyzko.

Just as some men can write and compose, men created God and the stories that others liked. Nothing wrong with that...even if it's a bunch of lies.

"Your sister is now in Heaven playing with angels" is a million times better than "She is now decomposing in that cold and wet grave". A lie that the surviving child needs to have nice dreams, not nightmares...

We all enjoyed the lies about Santa. Didn't you?

I would strip Christianity to the basics and skip the BS. Jesus was a great man without the immaculate conception.

Jesus' DNA was consistent with his mother's and Joseph's. According to Lyzko, God as a concept does not have DNA, blood type, or fingerprints...

BTW, where would I be while standing before God? Does he have an office?

It's impossible for an atheist to intellectually win this fight because they have no answer to the question: Who created people and the world, unless we are just a concept and are not real.

Watch some videos of people who temporarily died / NDE. Virtually all of them, whether believers or atheists, share the same experience about what happens after death. Your "mind" remains the same, but you leave your body and drift towards light or darkness. You stand before God as a spirit in a new dimension.

You can deny it as much as you want, but I can assure you there will be an hour when you, just like everybody else, will have to face the music.

Galatians 6:7: "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap."

Who created people and the world,

BS.

Lack of knowledge is not a license to claim God's existence and involvement.

We don't know what's inside Saturn. This does not mean that it's a hangout for bad angels.

Talk to Lyzko. He wrote a brilliant post on this subject.

but you leave your body and drift towards light or darkness. You stand before God as a spirit in a new dimension.

Don't embarrass yourself any further. "Temporally died" means they didn't die yet...

Death is relatively quick, yet still gradual, rather than sudden and abrupt. A brain-dead woman was still able to deliver a baby.

So let's talk to those who really died a year later. Open the coffin and say: How is it up there? Then tell us what you heard.

Lack of knowledge is not a license to claim God's existence and involvement.

It's your lack of knowledge; Christians know how the world was created.

Non-Christians or atheists claim there was a Big Bang out of nothing.. and then the real BS starts because they can no longer continue the conversation.

You claim you have no knowledge of how the world started? There are only two choices - 1) God created the world, 2) The world created itself out of nothing. What is your pick?

"Temporally died" means they didn't die yet...

Learn about the clinical death. Write a letter to the FDA to argue they should not use the term "death" in the "clinical death."

God is the Creator of the universe and humankind.

If the universe and humankind were not created by God, then by who or what?

God is the Creator of the universe and humankind.

If we go your route...

What was the process of creating the Universe? I am assuming that first there was nothing; zero atoms in infinite and empty space.

It's creation time...Time Zero.

Now what? Don't forget what we have now...millions of species, billions of space objects, all moving at the speed that makes Russian hyper rockets stationary...

Can you connect those dots? If not you, can anyone?

If the universe and humankind were not created by God, then by who or what?

When my car got a dent while I was in the mall, I didn't know who or what... It didn't occur to me that it was God who did it.

Translation: Lack of knowledge does not equal "God did it". We still don't know why Oswald killed JFK. That doesn't mean it was God who made him do it.

Using this approach, as we learn over time, God looks less and less awesome, and the fake miracles are harder and harder to dump on the gullible.

The moment we finally figure out how the Universe became what it is today, God will lose his main reason to exist. Is this the logic you guys are promoting?

While you are thinking...Here is a video that shows the ridiculousness of all claims regarding God and how the Universe was created.

My best advice: Stay with Jesus, what he said, and how he became the most important person in the history of mankind.

Also...leave his mother alone. Her sex life is none of your fvcking business. Yes, she had sex.

Leave the miracles and the rest for the toothless women in Peru, too...

However, if the plane you were on crashed right after takeoff and all the passengers died except you, and you survived sitting in seat number 113 without any major injuries, you would thank God for that.

That happened to a British guy recently during the big plane crash in India. He was thrown out of the door when it came off and landed on a building. All the other passengers including his brother were chopped and mushed to bits due to deceleration trauma.

No. There has never been nothing. Just accept the mystery. You're part of it.

Jesus was a great man without the immaculate conception.

Anthropomorphism is your problem here.

Christ is not just a man, he is the Logos, the eternal Word of God who IS before Abraham was.

By the same token, Mary wasn't just a woman either, but the earthly manifestation of Universal Purity. That is why she is immaculate. She is an incarnation of a cosmic principle as much as Christ is. That is why she is divine all though she is not part of the trinity as such.

See, the Father is pure essence, inscrutable and unfathomable. Now the Son, while sharing in the same essence of the Father, also possesses Being by virtue of which he can reach us and we can reach him, thus knowing the Father by means of knowing the Son. But this being Christ possess is not just any being, but Being as such, and this being is the result of the essence of the Father refracting through the prism of cosmic purity, which is the Virgin. Hence why she is the mother of God, which is to say that Mary, too, IS before Abraham was.

This is the meaning behind the perpetual virginity of Mary, which states that Mary was always a virgin, before, during and after the birth of Jesus Christ.

There has never been nothing

What was it and who created it?'

That is why she is immaculate

Bullshlt.

Jesus had 4 brothers. Holy Spirit again or healthy and normal sex?

the essence of the Father refracting through the prism of cosmic purity, which is the Virgin.

Do you actually believe this nonsense, or just trying to earn a free ticket to heaven?

What was it and who created it?'

You have the answer to that question yourself. I was brought up a Catholic and although I still retain elements of that belief system, what I believe to be the truths present within that religion, I have come to a few conclusions of my own over my lifetime which are not in line with Church teachings. I don't have definite answers to anything which I can present to you as absolute truths, as you know quite well. But you don't need me to answer any questions. As I say, you can do that yourself.

In your case, I would say, at least allow yourself to be open to the possibilty of the existence of the soul. Why not? At this stage of your life, really, what harm can it do you to have an open mind on the topic?
Novichok  6 | 10779

In your case, I would say, at least allow yourself to be open to the possibility of the existence of the soul.

What is "the soul"? It's impossible to prove the existence of something without first defining it.

What's hell? How do I know I am in it? Do they speak English there or Latin?

The US has decided that MLK is the greatest American ever without dragging his mother into it...

How about extending the same respect to Mary? Atheists did it and don't discuss her sex life and pregnancies. And with whom...You, believers, are beyond sick...

Suppose she was not a virgin and even had a great orgasm at the time of getting pregnant with Jesus. How does this take anything away from Jesus, the man?

In what sense was she "a virgin"? That she never had sex to get pregnant with Jesus or any other child?

This is beyond stupid...and unnecessary.

Or am I dealing with retarded kids who still claim that Santa is real?

I know this, you know this and any reasonably educated person knows this. The certainty of ignorance is a comfort to some people. People happy to dismiss some concepts gladly accept other concepts that can't be defined.
Korvinus  9 | 855

In what sense was she "a virgin"?

Mary was forever set aside as a virgin. Mary is a virgin for the very same reason that all nuns are (supposed to be) virgins.
Anyone who takes away the virginity of a nun commits blasphemy, by thinking himself worthy of taking that which was set aside for God himself. I know, the edgy tryhard Novi here is going to make jokes about sex and God himself, thinking himself very funny, but the issue here is that by refusing to have sex, by remaining virgin their whole life, a nun does an act of true charity, of true love of God.
Nuns set aside their love lives and the families they had as a way to love God, much like Saint Francis embraced poverty to love God or how Abraham agreed to sacrifice his own son also out of love for God.

Now Mary is the example that all nuns are trying to follow, it is on her we find the greatest expression of what is to be a nun. True, we also find in her the greatest expression of what it is to be a mother, which seems contradictory. It isn't, however, just like it isn't contradictory that Jesus truly is God and yet truly is Man. Mary's marriage with Joseph was particular in that she remained virginal forever. She was a virgin before the birth of Jesus Christ; she remained so even during His birth and she remains forever so even now.
This, always being the design God had for her, means it is blasphemous to claim otherwise; because it is a lie that goes against what the Church and tradition has taught us. Because it cuts us away from being able to ask recourse from Mary herself, for it blinds those who make these false claims from seeing the greatness of the Mother of God, through whom so many graces were granted.

I believe in gravity but can't prove it exists.
Korvinus  9 | 855

Indeed, without a true understanding of the underlying metaphysical reasons for the existence of gravity, to know of the effects of the latter is to simply memorize a factoid which has no inherent value in and of itself.

I believe in gravity but can't prove it exists.

BS. Gravity has been proven beyond any doubt. It can be measured. It's always there, regardless of how you feel. It affects everything.

Those who ignore gravity get hurt or die. Hence, gravity and believe do not go together in one sentence.

Now Mary is the example that all nuns are trying to follow,

You are making this shlt up as you are writing...How would we "go and multiply" with all these virgins everywhere?

OK, posters who wish their mothers were always virgins like nuns, please raise your hand. I am glad mine was not.

Mary was forever set aside as a virgin.

Set aside by whom? She was not a box to be "set aside".

In what sense was she "a virgin"? Whoever did it, what right did he or she have to do it? Did Mary agree, or was she forced?

What would you do if some creep told you that you are now being set aside to be a virgin for the rest of your life?

Wanna guess what I would say?

Retards in Russia definitely still believe in Ded Moroz:

The tradition of Ded Moroz is mostly spread in East Slavic countries and is a significant part of Russian culture.

What's hell? How do I know I am in it?

Hell is a place without God, without Love. Only those who hate God are there, and there is no good left in them.

You will know you are in hell when you scream in pain, and the more you scream, the worse it gets. Nobody will feel sorry for you, and they will only want to hurt you more. There is no way out, and the pain never ends.

Good luck.

Hell is a place without God, without Love

So if I walk into the Palatine PD tomorrow and ask to see God or Love, and they say nobody like this is here...does it mean I am in Hell?

I remember screaming in pain (I kept saying oh fvck) when I dropped a weight on my right foot at the gym. Nobody came to hug me. Was I in Hell?

Do you realize how stupid your posts on this subject are?

Good luck.

I don't need it. Just as Russia and the US don't recognize the authority of the ICC, I don't recognize God, Satan, and Angels and their authority over me. In fact, their very existence...

I remember vividly what my dad used to tell me when I was scared of monsters. He said that they didn't exist and that I should be scared of people, instead. One day, I was cured.

It's impossible to prove the existence of something without first defining it.

You, yourself are the proof.
What's hell?

Hell and Heaven are a state of existence. The teaching of the Catholic Church is that Hell is eternal separation from God, through your own choice.

If one is a Catholic, which you are, through baptism, then there is quite a lot of leeway in what you can believe of the teachings of the Church. In fact most things are optional, Marian apparitions, etc. are completely up to yourself whether you believe in them, but there are a couple of things that are non-negotiable if you want to be in 'full communion' with the Church, Mary's perpetual virginity is one of them. However, you can be a Catholic and not in full communion which is actually the case for a lot of Catholics at least at some point in their lives, if not for their entire lives.

Btw, I see a lot of garbled theology in the replies to you, which are quite inaccurate and not actually what the Church teaches.

For example, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit doesn't mean saying rude things about God or Mary, so that ship hasn't sailed for you as Torq suggested.

The Immaculate Conception mentioned by Alien, is not the conception of Jesus, but the conception of Mary herself, who was born without Original Sin.

Anyway, you don't have to be a Catholic to go to Heaven, even the Catholic Church acknowledges that, though many Catholics would have you believe otherwise.

with Novichok constantly blaspheming against Saint Mary and Virgin Birth

God's reality is not blasphemy. Just the opposite...

Insulting God's master plan with "immaculate" anything that involves procreation is an unforgivable sin and testifies poorly about the azzholes who push this crap.

My question still stands:

How does Mary having sex with Joseph in any way diminish Jesus?
