As we all know, the French have bought off every FIFA official under the sun.

Besides, the Brits choke on the big stage like a 2 month old eating a ribeye.

The Spaniards, while loaded with talent, will drop a massive load in their shorts when they sniff the American testosterone wafting through the American air.

The German Mannschaft are too busy applying for retirement benefits.

The Brazilians are gay.

The Argentinians...they concern me. But, France's bribe money is too powerful to unseat them going to the Finals to face the mighty and powerful USMNT.

This coming year we will officially rule everything in the world: the economy, military might, the papacy, and now...soccer.

Well....if you look at them this way....now that prediction sounds alot more probable! :)

What's the point of having the World Cup in the US, a backward hole that only worships money. The cheapest tickets for the final are $4,185 that's zł15036.64 which is crazy. The extortionate price is bad enough then we have to factor in the capricious nature of the ochre one. The US forced Blatter out now you have the ridiculous and shameful scene of Gianni Infantino sucking Trump.

I realise that having the World Cup can help civilise a nation but some places are beyond saving and it's the ordinary fans who in this case literally pay the price

....and still.....I guess the stadiums will be full and the people happy? :)

The stadiums may be full but your average football fan will be far from happy.

If Trumps new US entry requirements means tourists will have to provide 5 years of social media history, 10 years of email history, phone numbers for last 5 years and information on family members, then people may well not bother buying tickets. Why risk being turned away after paying a fortune to go.

If it goes ahead it will be a logistical nightmare and too difficult to enforce.

Well....its hard to believe he will go through with that for such an occasion....

One would think so but this is supposedly being implemented on the grounds of safety and security.

My guess is that football fans will be filling stadiums in Canada and Mexico....

It's going to cost billions in lost tourist revenue.

.....could be interesting what Infantino will say to that....he just got Trump a prize, fffs.

Another thought....maybe this prize was FIFA's way and hope to gain some influence with Trump, so that he at least leaves the World Cup (and its fans) alone???

Except the prize was awarded a few days before the Trump administration announced these new plans. Infantino should have waited before all that arse-licking! Actually, it shouldn't have been awarded at all because it flouted FIFA'S rules, but there you go.

Personally, I don't think it will come to anything like many of Trump's plans, but if he's serious about safety and security, then the World Cup is an event that would certainly demand heightened security.

The best hope is that it will take time to fully implement it and it will happen after the World Cup.

No, to be honest, I actually don't feel like laughing anymore...

The best hope is that it will take time to fully implement it and it will happen after the World Cup.

Wait... So this is not just for the World Cup?? Sorry, but I have no time for following news right now and I'm reading this and I can't believe this is happening... o_O'

I'm really starting to dislike this timeline...
It is getting dystopian...

Heh:) Have you been living under a rock??? :)

Officially its a kind of a peace prize....I can only guess its either for that achievement in Gaza and/or abit of a bribery for his goodwill concerning the upcoming World Cup...who knows what Infantino meant....*shrug*

HaHaHaHa! you are very funny.....America rules NOTHING, not the economy or soccer..... it's called football actually, because it's played with your feet.... American football is more like Rugby, but a wimp version, because of all the protective padding they have..... and it uses hands and arms.I'll give you military might and of course the papacy!

not... soccer.

You'll be eating crow come July as the mighty and powerful USMNT conquer the soccer world.

Now, if we could only convert some Am football linebackers (6'3 240 pound guys who run 40 meters in 4.5 seconds) into centerbacks and fullbacks, our domination would be so unfair FIFA would expel us from international competition.

Did you know that the term "soccer" originated in England to distinguish Association football from other forms of soccer? It comes from the upper crust...Cambridge and Oxford. I always thought it originated here...but it's a Brit term.

Accepting a transparently meaningless prize confirms that Trump is not quite all-there especially when its from an egregious sycophant

If Trump's new US entry requirements mean tourists will have to provide 5 years of social media history,

Trump is a genius...Too many of those "tourists" would ask for asylum or blow something up.

In 2001, we had 19 foreign "students" to learn how to fly big planes while chanting "death to America.

Memo to foreigners: Stay home and watch those stupid games on teevee.

And never, ever come here for any reason. We still have 30,000,000 of them, and have no idea how to get rid of the scum.

The cheapest tickets for the final are $4,185 that's zł15036.64, which is crazy.

Will they pay me this much to watch? I can do it for $500. BTW, I have a bucket of paint as a backup...

I'll consider whether I'll watch it at all. Lately, I've been falling asleep during matches.

So this is not just for the World Cup?

Not at all. Read it and weep:

Just one more reason why I won't be visiting my family in the US.

theguardian.com/us-news/2025/dec/10/tourists-social-media-trump

Quoting from the garbage known as the Guardian:

Tourists to US would have to reveal five years of social media activity under new Trump plan

Plan would apply to countries not currently required to get visas to the US, including Britain and France

...because you, morons, like Muslim scum that mumbles "Death to America" one time too many every day...

Then, to confuse the crap out of stupid Americans, you call this garbage nobody wants "Brits"...a word that used to stand for our white and loyal friends...with bad accent and spelling but still acceptable...

Today, you don't have a damn clue what you are...a people salad...rotten and decomposing fast...with riots by the very unhappy natives...

Tourist numbers will plummet, and so will income. The US is already facing the worst financial crisis in history... why? Because the entire world is learning to function without the US, and the first democratic countries are classifying the US as an existential threat... for example, Denmark.

The US is already facing the worst financial crisis in history.

America's been "about to collapse" for decades. Funny how it never happens-only the predictions do. lol

countries are classifying the US as an existential threat... for example, Denmark.

Denmark calling the U.S. an existential threat? That's hilarous!. Wake me up when they stop relying on American defense, tech, and markets. Until then, this is just another overseas doom-ranting leftards pretending TikTok geopolitics equals reality.

Tourist numbers will plummet, and so will income.

Tourists are worse than rats...Rats can be exterminated...

Not so with tourists....They come, speak terrible English, make places they visit unlivable, and jack up prices locals can't afford.

Once a place in "discovered" by the foreigners, the locals can't afford rents. See Miami.

Ask Venetians...Even their city is sinking from the hordes...

I noticed that America and Russia haters love the future tense. I guess this way it's hard to be wrong...unless one is a global warming freak like Greta and Gore.

Funny how it never happens

It never happens because the financial heavyweights - Japan, Canada, Taiwan, South Korea and the EU still accept American dollar as world's reserve currency. When that ends, and China and Russia await this moment eagerly, Americans will earn as much as good people of Honduras.

That's what your president is trying to achieve - right after he was elected he threatened Canada with annexation, tried to take over Greenland, made a complete mess in the common anti-China coordination with Japan, Taiwan, and Korea, and pretty much alienated the entire Europe (he doesn't even hide the fact that his aim is the destruction of the EU).
Ironside  53 | 13957

tried to take over Greenland,

But but that makes sense.

his aim is the destruction of the EU)

To be honest, the destruction of the EU as it currently exists is a noble and worthwhile endeavor. After the EU's dissolution, new international connections could emerge that are currently hindered by the artificial and cumbersome nature of the EU.
OP Torq  31 | 2160

but that makes sense

So it should be American now. Trump is a lot of talk but no action. He achieved nothing but made enemies among former allies all over the world. If there was a Russian agent in the office of American president, he wouldn't act very differently from Trump.

After the EU's dissolution, new international connections could emerge

It's always easier to reform existing structures than to destroy them and build everything from scratch.
