To be fair, when I was sixteen I also marveled at how anyone past 60 was able to continue interacting with technology. Now I recognize how utterly insulting this should have been to my grandparents that built all the infrastructure on which my life was based.

RussianAntiPutin gets a honorary mention - the best newbie I can remember in a long time. :) The second honorary mention goes to johnny_reb for being absolutely spot on on the matter of abortion :).

I have a feeling that Velund, Bobko, Novichok, Crow and Crnogorac might actually be nice guys in real life, but their support for the Russian version of nazism prevents me from including them in any best posters list on any position.

And as the years creep/flash by you begin to realise that the reason some people in their 80s or 90s (or a few decades younger) don't use the most cutting edge technology (though some do) isn't because they can't or because they don't know the basics, it's because they know very well that TikTok or Snapchat or instagram is something we can all live without and which in the blink of an eye will itself look as old-fashioned as a Bakelite valve radio, a horse and carriage or a mechanical semaphore beacon.

As I already said, the most embarrassing here are Poles for their personal insults and fake bravery.

Sometimes when I read old threads I start feeling sorry for myself for missing out on the Golden Years of PF. At the same time, back then there was no Novichok. The appearance of Novichok, aka Rich Mazur, was like a bolt of lightning on a clear day. Immediately it became clear that this kind of razor sharp logic and powers of deduction are without precedent on the server.

Also, those veterans that stayed have fermented and matured, like the famed canned suckers that JR consumes in his hut. Pawian of 2014 vintage, is not the same as 2022 Pawian. His wit is more ascerbic, his gardening knowledge more perfected.
