Some people do not understand what freedom of speech means. They believe it allows them to say whatever they like without any consequences. However, it primarily relates to government censorship issues. You can express your opinions freely, but people are also entitled to react in their own ways. For example, an employer may find your comments inappropriate and decide to fire you, among other possible reactions.

Only for your post-communist mentality. In Soviet Poland, most jobs were state-owned, so it was the government that fired you and prosecuted you. Here, another employer might offer you a job, or you could start your own business; nobody will set administrative barriers against you.
