And we all know what happens when the US is not in Europe. Theres a world war. Explain why the US should be counted on to begin with? Ukraine is not an American State. Not a protectorate. No obligation to Ukraine at all to defend it. So explain, why the US should be counted on for a European problem? All the bvllshit about influence and having access to European markets means nothing to regular Americans who will never step foot in Europe.

Most likely the US has realized their military is 10+ years behind Russia and China and it is unable to protect Europe from a possible Russian aggression. It's probably a smart move for the US, but the biggest loser will be Ukraine because they will have to accept Russia's demands.
