Macron wants 'boots on the ground' in Ukraine

OK, here is one...

Want better? Ask Germans...

you are getting upset because someone called them Huns ?

You can call me an orc all day - I don't care.

When a head of state does it - not cool. Pretty foolish in fact, if you have the best interests of 5 million Finns at heart.

Finland's economy benefited tremendously from trade with Russia. Russia's second largest city (with a population the size of Finland), is just on the other side of the border. Hundreds of thousands of people travelled both ways, before the war. This brought huge tourism revenue for Helsinki, not to speak of the real estate market.

If you decide you want to be best friends with somebody 7,000 kilometers away, and a total dick to your huge neighbor - this has a tendency to end badly. His country is kind of the prime example of what I am describing.

There is even a good term for how to behave properly in such situation - Finlandization (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finlandization). This is what Finland did between 1948 and 1992. When it was rational.

This is when it became one of the richest countries in the world, and the home of such world renown companies like Nokia.

a head of state does it

I read that the guy is an academic teacher and also a former foreign minister, so neither a retard nor an alien to the world of diplomacy. Strange...

Finlandization

Well, we need to coin a new term: polishforumization of Finnish politics. xD

It's as simple as that.

polishforumization

This term is actually for extreme cases of m0r0nisation, that is well known and widespread in european so called "elites".

Chidren, today Grandpa Novi will show you how to use the word "biggest"...so pay attention:

The biggest moron on this forum is the guy who said that the US should provide securtiy guarantees for Ukraine.

What this moron overlooked is that this would include the possibility of a shooting war between the US and Russia. Nice try, moron...

Another example of the biggest...

The biggest loser lately is Poland. Even Finland was invited to the Monday meeting with Trump. Inviting Poland was too risky.

Drunk North Nigerian operators have again sent one of their Iranian fundamentalist shitheap drones into Poland.

Meanwhile Putler and his rapist colleagues continue to row back on having a bilateral or trilateral talk. First said they never agreed to it, then made the Nagy suggestion of holding the talks in North Lagos LOL.

So I have decided - on the day Putler and Zelensky sit down in the same room in a neutral country under ceasefire conditions then I will stop using the North Nigerian epithet and call that country by it's UN official name - it will be tough for me but I am prepared to do my bit for peace

You mean Russians send a drone over Poland to test our response? (There is nothing wrong with Iran, i.e., Persia. Don't be disrespectful.)
What is Poland's response? Do you know? Will they write a letter to Putin, dear Wladek? Do not send us your lovely dornes; you might need them elsewhere. Signed, Donald.
I'm laughing, but I don't have high hopes for these morons. They still argue who said what and when, and who started it. Kids, the pause is over!

The response today is a lot of police wandering around in a field and a few talking heads on TVP. I doubt it will be anything more serious than getting the NN ambassador in for a dressing down

Those are not serious people, and there are no serious contingency plans or escalation steps. Why are they taking taxpayers' money, shameless *****?

It's not like anything bad like a war could start in August

when it became one of the richest countries in the world

how do you explain the fact that the part of Finland that russia stole is in about 10 times worse condition than the worst part of Finalnd proper?

russians cannot run a decent country.... it's theft and brutalization and intoxication to deal with the cognitive dissonance 24/7

russia could be a super power but russians doesn't want to do the work it wants to force others into pretending it's not a big garbage heap

Comparing Putin's Russia to the Huns is giving him too much credit.

The Huns were a mighty force that challenged the Roman Empire and were barely defeated after a long and gruelling war.

The Huns weren't stuck fighting an all-out war against a much smaller tribe for years on while bribing other powers to send troops as well.

That's bad news for the farm boys in a trench 6km from Pokrovsk ankle deep in their own faeces

But anyway TACO has said there will be severe consequences if Putler does not meet Zelensky - and this time he's serious

After Alaska the joker Witkoff said that the real breakthrough was that the NNs agreed to security guarantees

Lavrov now says they didn't and that NN has to be involved in those discussions. I.e a veto.

I actually believe Lavrov - looks like another Witkoff blunder and he would be much better off developing some large shopping malls in New Jersey than trying to fix this.

Because it's August and they are all on holiday

Indeed, it's a great idea. They should take a much longer holiday, a decade or two in Bereza.

Even better Putin, his clique and western leaders should all travel to Ibiza spend a month or two there partying while a truce is respected in Ukraine. Maybe after that Russians can stop freaking out about everything and things will normalise.

Stop complaining and embrace the love of all things European (especially Polish).

Little Turkey AKA Torq.On the occasion, right on the money, but the latest post definitely proves that his train left the tracks. That's what happens when you stop listening
to the advice of a real patriot, vice and knowledgeable Iron
. and foolishly start relying on your own, inferior makowka. I am blushing in shame listening to a bottomless stream
of convulsing, inane, political geniuses, statemen, prognosticators at the snap of the fingers, solving most complex problems facing humanity. But that is a side issue
How dare you suggest embroiling Europe, right after Poland got slapped in the face, I would suggest, spat in the face by the loving, European hypocrites.
All the help, all of the refugees from Ukraine, all of the financial burdens, all the military might count for nothing. To Western Europe, we are just a messy turd.
No different than 1939. Do you believe that Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, or Belgium.....will send their sons to bleed and die in the open plains, defending Poland,
from Russian tanks? Most likely scenario, like today, Slaves will kill Slaves, end perfidious Europe will decide Slaves' fate, as always.

Not one comment from little Turk, so I am reposting in a more popular topic, waiting and hoping that his post was just sarcasm

With this great question you just said that NATO is the biggest piece of feel good crap ever signed into existence...

Memo to "but we are a member of NATO" morons:

No. The US will not commit suicide for you. Nor are we going to send our men to defend you smelly asses even if no nukes are involved.

For this to happen, you have to petition God to make 500,000 dead American soldiers rise from their graves first...Good luck and GFY...

Próżnoś riposty się spodziewał,
bo nie dostaniesz nawet klapsa.
Nie powiem nawet "pies cię jebał",
bo to mezalians byłby dla psa.

In vain you hoped for a retort,
you won't get even a slap.
I won't say "a dog should hump you,"
for that'd disgrace the dog, in fact.

Courtesty of Julian Tuwim. Now f*ck off, birdie.

Little Tukey
Even from someone with such a questionable character, I did not expect a tirade filled with profanity that is unbefitting of a civilized person, especially when hiding behind the words of the perverted Tuwin. If you must use profanity, at least use your own.

You failed to address the main point of contention and instead focused on your inexplicable admiration for the deceitful Western Europe. Rational individuals remember the consequences of the blind trust we placed in the good intentions of Britain and France. They used Poland as a sacrificial lamb to buy themselves more time.

Additionally, your choice of a vulgar poem contradicts your aim of avoiding the issue while still attempting to respond. The satisfactory answer I received from Rich demonstrates how a civilized person behaves.

Which part of...

f*ck off

... did you fail to understand - the verb or the particle?
Torq  19 | 1927

OK, I don't really want to do this, as I am in bed with high fever, but for the benefit of PF readers who do in fact possess the ability of reading with understanding:

At no time did I express...

inexplicable admiration for the deceitful Western Europe

... if I did, then Ptak should quote me, but of course he won't; he just wanted to przypierdolić się for the sake of it. Typical of him.

When I told Ryszard to embrace all things European (especially Polish which is his heritage) I was obviously not talking about Western Europe only. Europe is so much more than just the West of it, Europe is also, and perhaps today especially, Central Europe with her resilience and wisdom, with her commitment to both tradition and modernity: our nations balance deep respect for tradition - folk customs, classical music, religious heritage - with dynamic modernity, fostering innovation, economic growth (Poland caught up with Japan in GDP per capita this year), and cultural vibrancy. It is also the Balkans and all their traditions, Scandinavia, and YES, it is also the West. The West of Europe and Britain which is much more than just the 1939 betrayal.

But of course you won't hear it from Ptak who cannot distinguish between 'Slaves' and 'Slavs', parroting nazi propaganda, 'embracing' and 'embroiling' or 'vice' and 'wise'. I have always wondered why Pawian hated him so much but now, although hatred per se is a feeling almost entirely alien to me, I do - to some extent - understand Pawian's feelings.

Anyways, think about it - what would the world today be without Europe? Without Antiquity, without the tradition of Medieval Christianitas, without all the culture and science? What would we be left with if it wasn't for Europe...

- Chinese hive?
- Russian tyranny?
- American pragmatism (so extreme that they - as the only country in Earth's history - decided to use nuclear weapons against civilians because it was practical and helped them end the war faster)?

... Europe (and, of course, I am not talking about the leftist-ridden EU) is the only hope for humanity. Only hope for Planet Earth. The real, Christian Europe will rise one day and all the inferior continents and nations will have no other option but to stock up on diapers when that happens.

Rant over.

Poland is a long way behind Japanese GDP per capita - unless you are using the bogus PPP method, which makes even North Nigeria look prosperous
Torq  19 | 1927

unless you are using the bogus PPP method

Why is it bogus? It means that a Pole can buy the same amount of goods and services in Poland for his salary that a Japanese can buy in Japan for his.

If you take pure GDP per capita, which is not accurate in measuring the standard of living, then Japan still has about 25% advantage (hardly a long way behind, there are predictions saying that we will overtake them in 2030). If we take into account that we started in 1989 as a ruined, grey, dirt poor, postcommunist sh*thole, it is quite impressive. Imagine where we would be if we had started with sensible economic system in 1945 not 1989. :-/

GDP per capita

GDP per capita means nothing.

What counts is how many hours the average earner has to work to buy 1 ounce of gold.

Or how many hours a Pole has to work to fly LOT from Warsaw to Chicago and back vs an American.

Japan is not an effective country to compare to - it has very high prices due to huge population in a small area and being an island adds import costs.

It is also extremely difficult to compare the items in a PPP basket for example you can compare kilogram to kilogram but a Japanese person consumes far less because they are smaller, have less kids and a massive whack of their salary goes on housing (which is why they favor very steady private employment) . It was a few years ago that I last examined Poland PPP basket but it included things like Baleron (!) and opera tickets.

On PPP then Poland and Japan are only slightly ahead of Romania, Turkey and North Nigeria (you can check the numbers yourself) but drive around these countries and you will see they are far less developed.

Poland has made huge strides but it still has huge strides to make.
