Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 23

@Torq
If you think you're yawning, imagine (as a nation) having to listen to 80 years of Polish whining that we didn't do enough to help you in a conflict that began when you were invaded, which dragged the entire world into war but Poles still have to make all about them.

If Putin invades Poland, and the UK (not exactly hopeful the Spanish will be much help once again - maybe the Italians will at least pick the right side this time?) joins on your side, will we get another 80 years of resentment because of this or that we didn't do to your exact specifications? Oh joy.

dragged the entire world into war

Given the result, you need not bother. If that's how you're doing things right, no wonder that you lost your empire in the blink of an eye.

@Ironside
The result? Defeating Hitler? Are you one of those that believes "we fought the wrong one"?

The empire was bound to go sooner or later, as was the way of all European empires, apart from the French who have managed to keep some of their hold over Africa in various ways. WW2 was just the final nail in the coffin, really. But btw you should be glad the British had an empire, because all those empire peoples fought in the war that began when Poland was invaded.

Is "doing things right" getting steamrolled by the Nazis, then ending up in the Soviets' sphere of influence for most of the rest of the 20th century, and whining about both incessantly and blaming everyone else for your situation?

Btw, just so we're clear: you'd both rather we didn't join a future war in which Poland is invaded by Putin? You'll handle it yourselves? Presumably with great help from the Spanish and Italians, and other stalwart European allies?

The empire was bound to go sooner or later

Why? Russia still has theirs. Millions upon millions of square kilometres, natural riches and hundreds of nations under their rule.

You'll handle it yourselves?

Yes, stay the f*ck away. If Russia invades with conventional forces, we will wipe the floor with them. If they use nukes, you won't be of much help either.

So, yeah, save your intrigues, plotting and perfidy for other purposes. We've got this. Just one thing--when we start to mobilise, don't pressure us into stopping the mobilisation like you did in 1939.

The result? Defeating Hitler?

If the call to arms were in defence of an independent Poland, that goal has not been achieved. If that was only a pretext, you **** off from Poland.

ou'd both rather we didn't join a future war in which Poland is invaded by Putin?

Every little help, but honestly, I wouldn't expect any substantial help from Britain.

Hey, go F that heagehog, maybe you'll calm down a little.

Well said.

You really didn't understand my brilliant rhetorical figure? Maybe you're half-British yourself?

Edit:
No, I take that half-British bit back. My apologies. I went too far.

You forget that you gained independence in 1918, after 123 years of partition, largely as a result of Britain (and others') participation in a certain earlier Continental European conflict - which once again we didn't join as a result of invading anyone or being invaded. Seems a lot like we just get dragged into wars in your part of the world. A lot of fighting on your side but never any credit - just resentment.

Also, sorry that we didn't immediately march on Moscow after WW2 just for your benefit. That seems to be the only outcome that Poles wouldn't have regarded as a 'betrayal'. And why don't you blame the USA to nearly the same extent of ferocity that you blame us? THEY were the most powerful country in the world.

@Torq
You don't seem to be realising that the fact that Britain maintains a sizeable army, navy, airforce and nuclear arsenal are part of the reason Putler hasn't invaded you already (obviously nothing compared to the US's military might, though). Or did you think it was the Spanish and the Italians keeping them away? Jesus, you people really don't give us a crumb, do you? Recognise your actual allies and the ones in Europe who sit back or actively join your enemies. I swear I wish I had never had one conversation with Poles about this kind of topic because it would make my grandparents roll in their graves.

@WarSore

No, you do not have a sizeable army, your navy has more admirals than commissioned warships, and whoever believes that you would use your nukes to defend Poland is a bloody idiot.

@Torq
Anyone who believes nukes are for using rather than for deterrent purposes is an absolute kurwa dupek.

We have a pretty sizeable army and one of the largest in terms of expenditure if not by GDP. Again, let's see how much help the Scandinavians and Spanish are if WW3 erupts. Like most, we got used to living in an 'era of peace', under US protection of Europe, and devoted more and more of our budget to improving life for citizens rather than the military. That era is over now, of course, until we put Russia back in its box. And I would have hoped you would be rather glad we are dedicated to standing up to them rather than licking their arses like those Magyars and Slovaks, for instance. I really don't understand the hate Poles have for us. Recognise an ally that has been consistently on your side, even if perhaps you think we have let you down in various ways.

Oh, you want to hurt my feelings? Good luck.

Recognise an ally that has been consistently on your side, even if perhaps you think we have let you down in various ways.

OK, fair enough. I am willing to give you what your people call "a benefit of the doubt", but if you let us down this time, then we will troll you all over the internet not for 80 but for 800 years.

If we let you down in a war with Russia, I will be the first burning my British passport. I will even join the Polish army if they invade, despite being middle-aged, with numerous health problems, and very out of shape. I've just spent 1m zl on a flat in Warsaw - if the Russians level it, I am cutting Putin's throat myself.

Joking aside: we are with you. We always were. Armchair historical analysis doesn't negate the sacrifices my grandparents made in WW2. We are on the kurwa same side here.

Mordo I don't understand your constant references to Africa when it comes to Russia. West Africans, for instance, are fine people. More devout Christians than most Poles, and dealing extremely well with far more extreme poverty IMO. I've lived with Nigerians for about 35 years living in London and many of them have been eminently respectable accountants, doctors, lawyers and other professions. What do you mean by 'North Nigerians'?

I'm having fun, you don't understand my sense of humor.

I really don't understand the hate Poles have

I wouldn't call it hate; rather, it stems from a belief that you owe us something because of World War II. Whether this expectation is rational or reasonable is irrelevant; we are discussing feelings here. I don't mind, but I want to highlight that everything you have done has been in what you perceive to be in your British interest. Politics is not about charity.

Correction, you have some Army, but only substantial forces at your disposal are the Air Forces and the Navy.

We owe you something? Surely fine and beautiful US&A owes you more, as their betrayal - at 'Jalta' - was far more drastic, given that they were the major world power at the time and they had far more of an ability to protect Poland from the Soviets.

Surely also the Italians - who fought on your enemy's side and show no shame or contrition - owe you more. They, if anyone, should show open shame and contrition to Poles. Ditto the f*cking Japanese, who Poles love but who the Chinese, Koreans, Burmese and others hate exactly as much as you hate the Germans and Russians, and whose countries those b*stards f*cked up too.

We owe you something? The first country to join the war on your side? Compared to this plethora of fascist c*nts?

WarSore it was Torq who invented this name. But it describes our Eastern neighbors perfectly - a corrupt petro state where a tiny ruling class has skimmed mineral wealth for decades and cares only about ostentation and funneling those gains into London mansions and private jets.

It is no comment on the Igbo, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba and all the rest of the gang. I agree there are many fine people among the 150 million actual Nigerians and I fully expect that in 10 years that will be a richer country than North Nigeria. As you point out, they are often successful when transplanted to a democracy where they have a fair shake at life

Mordo I don't understand your

Russia is known to be statistically more similar to Africa with regard to economy per citizen, health per citizen etc. So as a sign of disrespect it's a way to remind those that glorify Russia that they are not at the level they think Russia is. It's a result of the invasion of Ukraine. Before that it wasn't much used. At least on this forum.

it's a way to remind those that glorify Russia that they are not at the level they think Russia is.

It's their business. That fake pity from Russia haters is old, annoying, and sickening...

In the meantime, Russia has every right to act the way Western warmongers have been and gotten away with...

If it's too subtle...Russia can invade Ukraine for exactly the same reasons why the US invaded Iraq - to feel secure...

It's completely illogical. Go and attack the USA, Italy, Spain, Japan, and all those other countries and keep Britain's name out of your mouth. Thank you.
Ironside  51 | 13444

t's completely illogical.

I'm explaining the reality that exists. Those in Poland who care or have an opinion about it feel this way; it is not hate, as you claimed.

Some people may not share the same feelings. For instance, I don't feel that way, but it's not a common topic of conversation in Poland. So I don't know who else shares my point of view, you can poll it here if you feel like it.

I would genuinely love to see how many Poles hold a greater grudge towards their WW2 ally the UK than enemy fascist c*nt bastards Italy and Japan. I fear they hate us more. As far as I'm concerned, the fascist Italian bastards can all burn in hell

The Iraqis fought back for 9 years and then won

The Ukrainians for 3 years and will eventually win. The NN Nazis have no way to advance, even if they managed to find a few sober moments they simply don't have the equipment needed

If Iraq won the war, there would not be a new government in place, and Sadam would not be dead.

Ukraine is being killed by a thousand paper cuts. It will eventually bleed out.
