Will PiS be happy if AfD wins elections in Germany?

What is the upper limit on migrants in Germany?

Also...if you recall...How did you tell German government to let any of them in?

Did you call them? Email? A referendum?

In Germany, you get what your misguided national guilt dictates, and the cowardly politicians. Poland, on the other hand, is free of any guilt..

Great post!

Give them a choice: either you tell us where you are from and we ship you back there, or we ship you to the Sahara and parachute you out in the wild.

Love it!!!

After the terrorist attack on a mall last year, a lot of people said bad things about Putin for broadcasting on federal channels that the attackers ears were being cut off,

????? No,intelligent migrants don't want to go to Russia......

what many Brits are saying now while watching the success of Farage and his Reform party. Disbelief that people are voting for those politicians

There is no disbelief in the UK at all, we all saw this coming.

The three main points of European and American politics now are Immigration.Immigration and Immigration.

No. Illegal scum invasion, illegal scum invasion, illegal scum invasion...

what many Brits are saying now while watching the success of Farage and his Reform party

Not that much success since they've got 4% of local councillors and 0.8% of MPs.

The unusual electoral system there makes it difficult for them. That and basic human decency; even staunch Conservatives in some areas were tactically voting Labour in the local elections to keep them out. It's worth mentioning that the one thing they won, a byelection, was won by only 6 votes. That despite the previous MP having to resign after being jailed for beating up a constituent in the street. It was an easy election for them, however they only scraped in by a majority of 6 voters.

coupled with the realisation that this party now becoming a possible factor in their home towns.

Not in mine. Most of the media were saying that they'd win it easily; in fact they lost it badly.

This is the current make up of local councillors. It's worth mentioning that not every district has elections every year..

Better try to avoid the mocking and downtalking again, Jon....

That all reminds me mightily at the whole Brexit-Chaos....Farage started so tiny...a mocked outsider, nobody "serious" took him seriously in the beginning....but he got only bigger and bigger and bigger till he won in the End.

I can't help thinking this one follows the same pattern....

PS: It seems these so called populists everywhere keep winning with exact these patterns....(and the so called "serious people" have only to blame themselves!)

What "mocking and downtalking"?

Fascists do not deserve respect.

Brexit-Chaos.

Which has actually turned out rather well.

Farage started so tiny

And still is, given last week's election results.

populists everywhere keep winning with

Huge PR by turds who make money from market volatility. Fortunately it didn't work.

Fascists do not deserve respect.

Farage - anti Islam

Which has actually turned out rather well.

Farage - anti EU

You are confusing Jon....but hey, that might turn out rather well also, give him a chance! :)

Better try to avoid the mocking and downtalking again,

This is a big problem.... the disconnect between the political establishment and chattering classes who are not directly affected by terrible policies that please the political establishment and chattering classes.

From what I understand, although Merz and party ran on tightening up against current 'asylum' and 'refugee' policies* to put together a coalition Merz had to give u on pretty much everything there and nothing will actually change....

I think this 'report' is just an attempted end run around citizen dissatisfaction and AfD will, in fact, continue to grow until it is either the largest party or is banned (what happens then is anyone's guess... my guess is mostly nothing until economic collapse a few years out).

*in scare quotes because probably over 90% of those claiming refugee status or asylum do not meet the minimum requirements for either. but once in Germany they'll end up staying, getting money from the government while contributing nothing...

This is a big problem.... the disconnect

...that seems to be same for all our western countries right now!

and nothing will actually change....

In this new gov nobody expects much from the left SPD, and her rival, "Die Linke", is by far not strong enough to be a real threat, and "Die Grünen" just lost to much of former public support....but it's more or less the last chance for the CDU, or her rival the "AfD" will take over her place in the political landscape of Germany with even more lotsa former CDU-voter!

So Merz HAS to deliver....the next 100 days will show!

I think this 'report' is just an attempted end run

...this "report" could very well be the end of any further career Mrs. Faeser planned. What she did just doesn't look smart....

Farage - anti Islam

Quite. He does not deserve respect if he uses bigoted concepts to malign millions of people. The leader of his party, Zia Hussein, deserves even less.

It's worth mentioning that Faraj's core votes are in places where the number of Muslims (or buildings, infrastructure, culture) is vanishingly small, like Lincolnshire.

Farage - anti EU

The idea of leaving that trade bloc long predates that turd Faraj and those who voted to leave fall across the political spectrum.

but hey, that might turn out rather well also

Can you think of a fascist regime that has "turned out well". As I recall, your own fascist leader blew his brains out in a bunker, Italy's ended up swinging from a lamppost and Spain's fascist regime collapsed completely as soon as the dictator dies. I

Can you think of a fascist regime that has "turned out well".

Can you think of a socialist regime that has turned out well?

If one gets another and third and fourth chance, the other should too, no? ;)

Faraj

...ooooh...now I get it....*slaps forehead* :)

Can you think of a socialist regime that has turned out well?

Yours is a mixed socialist and capitalist one and mine is too. Both countries are pretty decent to live in.

now I get it....

Probably the origin of the surname, North Africa via France.

That and basic human decency;

It is not about basic human decency. Brits are used to their way, and it takes a lot to make them vote for new parties.
---
Better try to avoid the mocking and downtalking again

That is a typical strategy of so-called liberals/progressives. The next step is to talk about fascism and racism.
---
my guess is mostly nothing until economic collapse a few years out).

German progressives are leading Germany into a really big collapse by denying reality and pursuing unachievable, impractical goals. If their economy collapses, and they are left with millions of Muslim doctors who will be cut off from benefits, I don't even want to think what could happen. I guess Poland will need to take in some German refugees.

Wow......just in.....Merz not voted to Chancellor!!!! O_O

Failure! CDU leader Friedrich Merz failed to secure the required majority in the Bundestag in the first round of voting - and will no longer be chancellor today.

316 YES votes were required. But the result was different: 310 MPs voted YES, 307 NO, there were three abstentions, and one invalid vote.

Merz was six votes short of a majority.A historic defeat!

This voting was actually only a formality....and now Germany is rudderless....the old Chancellor got his great farewell yesterday.....

now Germany is rudderless.

It's been that way for at least 10 years with no leadership concerned about what the public wants....

Interesting takes here:

tldr: secret ballot means no one knows who scuppered this or what they want: two possible outcolmes are early elections or an SPD/Greens/Linke minority government (who cares what German citizens want?)

Not that much success since they've got 4% of local councillors and 0.8% of MPs.

Yet they riding high in the polls and had a remarkeable success in the local elections.

google.com/amp/s/bbc.com/news/articles/cp8jdr6ylzjo.amp

It is evident that Farage is benefiting from the unpopularity of both Labour and the Tories, quite like in Germany with the SPD and CDU losing votes to the AfD.

The man has been caught in many scandals, looked poorly in many public debates, and is with Brexit responsible for the biggest disaster in British history since WWII. It should be plain to see that this man should never have political power. Yet more and more people are considering to vote for him.

That is how the AfD looks like to many.

Farage is benefiting from the unpopularity of both Labour and the Tories, quite like in Germany with the SPD and CDU losing votes to the AfD.

For the same reasons.... the political establishment is unable/unwilling to stem the flow of parasitic migrants who suckle at the taxpayer teat while giving nothing in return... (or who turn to crime).

Yet they riding high in the polls

Fortunately our FPTP means that this is largely irrelevant.

had a remarkeabwle success in the local elections.

They very much did not. Only a few local authorities had elections in 2025 and Norfolk, Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, home of the 'Turnip Taliban' and all sparsely populated were among them. In the few urban areas to have local elections they did poorly.

Brexit responsible for the biggest disaster

What 'disaster'?? It's actually turned out rather well.

biggest disaster in British history since WWII

WW2 was a disaster for you, since you started a war you could never win. For us, we won, and our victory over you ushered in a period of decolonisation, of rationalisation of industry, of breaking down class divisions, and gave us the National Health Service.

What makes AfD "extreme"?

Anybody?
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 12068

What makes AfD "extreme"?

Not liking muslims! "Disregarding human dignity" is enough to be banned in Germany (at least in the eyes of some)....

....However, the agency stated the reasons: The classification was made "due to the extremist character of the entire party, which disregards human dignity." "The party's prevailing understanding of the people based on ethnicity and descent is incompatible with the free democratic basic order," the security agency stated. It aims to exclude certain population groups from equal participation in society.

"Specifically, the AfD, for example, considers German citizens with a migration history from predominantly Muslim countries to be members of the German people, as defined ethnically by the party," the domestic intelligence agency stated. This understanding is expressed in statements made by some high-ranking party members.

Fascists do not deserve respect.

...as opposed to azzfvckers and other LGBTFUCK perverts...They deserve their own flag, pride parades, and a country...

Oops ... they don't want a country...As biological parasites, they need a host. Sorry...

What's wrong with fascists? Do they commit crimes?
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 12068

...as opposed to

Exactly! Leftists can demand revolution and openly call for radicalism to change the society....it's all okay....

Maybe they really should start the legal proceedings for a ban and the real Verfassungsgericht will show them all how ridiculous that is.
If the gov truly has nothing else but strong opinions about muslims that is no way that the AfD will be banned for this alone...

But hey....in other news....we now at least have a new Chancellor....if this new gov holds longer than a year needs to be seen though!

What 'disaster'?? It's actually turned out rather well.

Defending everything your country against all evidence (and indeed the views of most British people at this point) did on principle is kinda boring. It is ok to admit that Brexit was a stupid decision. Something every expert warned about, yet people voted for it. If the AfD ends up elected, nobody will be able to complain that nobody had warned about them.

. For us, we won,

I just didn't want to compare the consequences of Brexit with a war. As bad as it turned out to be, the suffering is quite on a different scale. Maybe Suez would have been a better comparison? Though again people died there as well.

If the gov truly has nothing else but strong opinions about muslims

Calling migrants "Messermänner" seems more than a strong opinion to me.
Novichok  4 | 9297
1 day ago   #776
So, inviting a horde of Muslims to Germany without citizens' consent was not "extreme".

Wanting a horde of Muslims out of Germany is "extreme".

Did I get it right?

Calling migrants "Messermänner" seems more than a strong opinion to me.

Is it illegal to express this opinion on the internet in Germany?
Novichok  4 | 9297
1 day ago   #777
Hey, Tacitus, did your Ministry of Permissible Feelings publish a list of what one can feel and express on the internet?

For example...

I hate Muslim migrants.

Is this legal in Germany?

Also:

I hate fascists.

It really isn't though, is it.. Unless Bismarck was a socialist.

It really is; unless their general hospitals are for-profit, if they don't have a good welfare system and if none of their infrastructure or industry is publicly owned. Bismarck is an irrelevance. Dead for decades and good that he's dead.

Defending everything your country against all evidence

The evidence is that the economy didn't crash, food didn't disappear from the shops, London is still the main city in Europe and the main financial hub (despite attempts during the EU years by other countries to poach that and that a hostile trade bloc is no longer able to prevent nationalisation that is happening for the good of the country in a several sectors right now.

bad as it turned out to be, the suffering

"Bad" how? What "suffering" are you trying to pretend has occurred? Is it in the room with you now?
Novichok  4 | 9297
1 day ago   #779
London is still the main city in Europe and

...at the top of Russia's target list...

My advice to the Brits is to STFU and leave adult matters to the adults. This means the US and Russia.

Did you know that London has more mosques than Mecca?

You can google it if you don't believe me.

I mention it only because so many Americans died believing that defending you they were defending something worth their sacrifice.
Tacitus  2 | 1356
1 day ago   #780
The evidence is that the economy didn't crash, food didn't disappear from the shops,

The UK is today poorer than it would be if it had remained in the EU, with the Brexiteers promising the opposite. Even the city suffered unnecessary losses, If you want to pretend that Brexit was a success because it just diminished economic growth instead of outright crashing the economy, then so be it.

london.gov.uk/new-report-reveals-uk-economy-almost-ps140billion-smaller-because-brexit

It is obvious that it was a poor decision with predictably negative consequences for both sides. It weakened the UK and the EU, and left both sides more vulnerable to hostile actors, be it Trump or Putin. A tragic mistake we all have to live with.
