@Rich, the richest single institution in history's the Catholic Church, so don't go on that anti-Jewish rant!
Had the Church not spread all those vile rumors about Jews, instead of the Romans, as Christ killers, we
wouldn't be having this pointless conversation.

I never asked you to converse with me.

Likewise, however, I was referring of course to the CONtent, not the INtent!

I was refereing to the fact that you are not capable of having a conversation.

Meaning what, pray? Sure the shoe's not on the other foot, Rich?

Meaning what,

Meaning that you are not capable of having a conversation.

Well, the incoming chancellor Friedrich Merz certainly has his work cut out for him. What we now need is nothing short of a second Adenauer. He has to reform the German economy, solve the refugee crisis and coordinate the European response to the Russian threat in the East. And then there is the Trump situation. He has to show leadership where Scholz failed to do so.

If we want to stay positive, there is currently a window of opportunity with European leaders who understand the urgency of the situation and are willing to cooperate. This window may close with the end of Macrons's term in 2 years, so one can only hope that they use it.

solve the refugee

What is the problem with the refugees that requires a solution?

They are the problem. At least that's what Grandpa Novi taught us.

The AfD has been officially recognized as an extremist organization in Germany. It will be interesting to see if it is banned.

The AfD has been officially recognized as an extremist organization in Germany.

What damn right does the German government have to designate political opposition as extremists?

Did they designate the tree hugger party as an extremist organization? How about extreme left?

I thought that the Allies defeated NAZIS in 1945.

WTF?
Tacitus  2 | 1372

Will be interesting to see how constitutional lawyers evaluate this decision. The legal argument needs to be very convincing in order to succeed.

Do you want any party to be officially labeled as extreme?

@Tacitus, your remarks some days ago regarding Merz I found quite on point.
You seem not to be a die hard Merz supporter, while at the same time, no particular fan
either of the former Chancellor.

You never responded to my private mail, by the way.

I am cautiously optimistic. At least when it comes to his foreign policy, he'll be in a much stronger position than Scholz since a) his foreign minister is from his party b) he now has the financial freedom due tot he reform of the debt brake and c) the biggest pacifists in the SPD are now weakened as a result of the election.

You never responded to my private mail, by the way.

Apologies, I havent looked in my mails for years.

It will be interesting to see if it is banned.

That's why I prefer X unde Elon Musk....seriously!

Next, when I criticize Islam in Germany, I can be deported into a Gulag.....DDR 2.0, here it comes!

The legal argument needs to be very convincing in order to succeed.

Did you read the published summary? It's not about a secret conspiracy to overtake the gov and build a dictatorship, it's more or less about the feeling of the people about Islam...can you believe it!

The poisoned farewell "gift" by Faeser....I very much doubt that this is a reason do forbid a party! She was and still is a stupid cow!
Tacitus  2 | 1372

Did you read the published summary?

I' ll have a closer look at it during weekend, but from what I've heard so far, it looks like they gathered a lot of damaging material. If indeed pretty much every prominent AfD politician has been observed spreading hatred against migrants in public, then it will become very difficult for the AfD to refute this classification.

it looks like they gathered a lot of damaging material.

Sure....they could do that by reading my posts....

There is a thing called freedom of opinion....to dislike Islam falls under it or half of the Germans should be observed by now!

PS: The Left is known to scream at Demos "From the River to the Sea"....I wonder why Anti-Semitism isn't handled the same like Islamophobia! Oh crap...

Remember Faeser is the one who send the police after someone who dared to make a funny pic about her on X....the police and the whole justice system...a stupid cow who thinks insulting politicians is now a thing for the Verfassungsschutz!

Ooopsie....I just called her "stupid cow".....do I have to fear SG9 come knocking on my door now???
Tacitus  2 | 1372

There is a thing called freedom of opinion

Basic law, article 5

(1) Every person shall have the right freely to express and disseminate his opinions in speech, writing and pictures and to inform himself without hindrance from generally accessible sources. Freedom of the press and freedom of reporting by means of broadcasts and films shall be guaranteed. There shall be no censorship.

(2) These rights shall find their limits in the provisions of general laws, in provisions for the protection of young persons and in the right to personal honour.

One such law is e.g. § 130 StGB (incitement to hatred, Holocaust denial and so on). This really shouldn't be news.

The Left is known to scream at Demos

Please don't make me defend the Left party, but which prominent Left party politician has made such statements?
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 12155

incitement to hatred

Blah! You can't ban feelings!

People don't hate Islamists because some Höcke tells them to....

There shall be no censorship.

That's the only thing what counts! Or else it's back to the DDR! And that won't have a Happy Ende, mark my words...

Censorship and bans make shut people their mouth's, surely....but "Gedanken sind frei", as Honecker and Co had to learn later!
Tacitus  2 | 1372
3 May 2025   #625
Blah! You can't ban feelings!

One can feels as much hatred as one wants. Inciting others however... .

That's the only thing what counts! Or else it's back to the DDR!

I am more concerned about not getting back to the Third Reich. That 2nd paragraph was added because the politicians who drafted the constitution had painfully learned that letting people spread lies and hatred can result in murderous consequences.

Inciting others however... .

Where do you draw the line?

I hate Islam (is okay)

Talking about how much I hate Islam (still okay?)

Meeting others in fora etc. and sharing our hate of Islam? (still okay?)

Sympathizing with politicians who share my opinions (still okay?)

Politician/party which share my opinion (VERBOT!!!!!)

...or what?

spread lies and hatred can result in murderous consequences.

Thing is that is also such a blah-wishy-washy paragraph, free for the taking for every political uses!

and in the right to personal honour.

Leftists love to call Rightists, or anybody not being left, as Nazis! You know that don't you....

What about the personal honour of the insulted?
What about the hate against people preferring a non-leftist state? ("Demos gegen Rechts" anybody)
What about always the continous harking back to the Third Reich? As the memory of another failed murderous dictatorship, the GDR, is so much fresher yet? (Alot of us survivors are still kicking) Because it was a socialist/communist/leftist failure???

No, Tacitus....this stinks so much....and it won't help the Left in the end, it never did!
Novichok  6 | 9439
3 May 2025   #627
Inciting others however...

Inciting to commit crimes or to feel the same?

...the politicians who drafted the constitution had painfully learned that letting people spread lies and hatred can result in murderous consequences.

This makes you not one iota better than NAZI Germany and the Soviet Union.

Those two had exactly the same rule...Both, just like Germany and the UK, had the Ministry of Truth.

In the US, on the other hand, I can lie and hate all day long - my favorite activity here.

I know it will be a shock to PF bootlickers...The First Amendment was passed to protect hateful liars like me.

Bootlickers like you don't need the First Amendment. You are safe.

In response to an inquiry from the Berliner Zeitung, media lawyer Joachim Steinhöfel stated:

"The Federal Republic of Germany is a constitutional state in which political rights are also enshrined in the constitution. These fundamental rights are endangered by legislation (the Network DG, the DSA), criminal law (Section 188 of the Criminal Code), and unconstitutional NGO funding. This is also demonstrated by Germany's decline in the press freedom rankings. Due to its consequences, the classification of the AfD as confirmed right-wing extremist almost seems like a de facto ban on the opposition. The real threat to our democracy comes from within. Ms. Faeser gives it a face."

Satire or crime? Following the verdict against editor-in-chief David Bendels for a doctored photo of Faeser, the Bamberg public prosecutor's office wants to up the ante. Seven months' suspended prison sentence is not sufficient.....

welt.de/politik/deutschland/article256050028/Deutschland-Kurier-Chef-Nach-Urteil-wegen-Faeser-Meme-Staatsanwaltschaft-fordert-noch-hoehere-Strafe.html

...Following the controversial verdict against AfD-affiliated journalist David Bendels, the Bamberg public prosecutor's office is demanding a harsher sentence. This has been reported concurrently by several media outlets. The responsible public prosecutor, Alexander Baum, filed an appeal against the verdict on April 8, according to a document obtained by Junge Freiheit, among others. The letter considers the sentence imposed so far to be inadequate: "The sentence does not do justice to the unlawfulness of the crime and the personality of the defendant," it states. No further details are provided....

What a horrible crime, a meme about a politician!!!

Yes, Tacitus....our democracy is under threat! As an ex-DDRler, I feel the goosebumps of history....

Yes, Tacitus....our democracy is under threat!

Democracy starts with two rights: The right to shoot my mouth off and the right to shoot the gov-goons when they threaten the former.

Would I do it? Hell, no! That doesn't make the above untrue.
Bratwurst Boy  8 | 12155

The right to shoot my mouth off

That is enough for most Germans....if it would be still full in existence!

The actual gov (Scholz/Faeser) has been voted down and out during the last elections not at least for their shenanigans concerning their try to hack down at exactly that Freedom of Opinion...

Now, on her last leg out, her last days of being in job, this Faeser tries to shoot it down for good....that is so obvious! Shame, shame, shame on you, Faeser!
