Will PiS be happy if AfD wins elections in Germany?

It's sad that neo-nazis got those votes in east Germany.

What's wrong with "neo-nazis" in your opinion?

Centrists.

Better than the right wing of course. I expect they'll be quite busy organising.

Neo-nazis? That is what they are, like it or not.

Still, the problem persists!

How to get these people back...their votes? Treating them and calling them as Neo-Nazis, showing them only contempt and disdain makes it very easy for the AfD! No hard work needed....

The problem of fascism and nationalism?

Yes, and education is the best way to tackle it.

Rising living standards generally helps.

Neo-Nazis

That's what they are.

We had the same situation in Poland with the Civic Platform leaders showing open contempt for PiS and their voters (sometimes for a good reason) which only strengthened Kaczyński's party internally.

I suppose one way to deal with AfD would be for the winning party to form coalition with them--give them lucrative jobs, some extra funds "under the table", some state honours etc. etc. and they will quickly forget about their zeal and extremist views. Old trick.

Can somebody here act like an adult and explain what is wrong with AfD based on their agenda?

No adjectives, please.

Old trick.

I guess that's what will happen in a few years.....thats what happend already everywhere in Europe, Germany is only abit late with that.

Their main big point of discontent right now is that they are seen as Putin-supporter who would like to throw Ukraine to the wolves (the Left has the same problem)....if they would change that, they would gain alot more votes....lotsa more votes!

which only strengthened Kaczyński's party internally.

Yet they lost.

Better to laugh at them than attack them, as any PR person knows.

Old trick.

Bit an incredibly dangerous one and given that they're as extreme as it gets, not one acceptable to the general public.

For Europe, the fact that they are stuck with their idea of little, puny self-interest of particular countries, without any wider vision for the Union. You can agree with such approach but for the EU, the green revolution, closer cooperation or eventually even the United States of Europe, this would be the end. For Poland, the probability of them disregarding the interest of central Europe and trying to make deals with Russia over our heads is quite high.

As I said, give them some money, honours and power and they will fall in line like everyone else.

Bit an incredibly dangerous one

Not if we do it right. As BB said - it's already been done many times before.

Not generally with such extreme characters. Even the LPR and Samoobrona joining coalition was a disaster.

Relentless PR against them is a good approach. That and looking for as much dirt on the individuals in the party as possible. It wont make that much difference in teg east however it will prevent them gaining support in the larger west germany.

That or rebuild the "Anti Fascist Protection Barrier" again. Pretty well as soon as the wall came down, West Germans were joking that they'd need to rebuild it to this time keep the fascists in rather than out.

Relentless PR against them is a good approach.

They did that since the beginning....first with mocking (as they only had a few percent)....then later, as they grew, with painting apocalyptic pictures, calling and treating them like Nazis....and even totally ignoring them....till up to try to ban them!

...nothing worked!

There is actually only the one way Torqi mentioned left...

They did that since the beginning

They've barely started.

Dogging as much dirt as possible, and rigorously prosecuting any crimes by them is a good tactic too.

Do you think its good or bad that they've got some votes this time?

Depends on the outcome....if that leads to a "healthy shock" and the main parties react and change accordingly, they might have their use!

Shocks are rarely healthy and it is always better to do the business of government smoothly.

Germany does have stability, and probably won't end up im the same mess as America (firing over 100,000 middle class professionals -what could possibly go wrong...) however there is also of course a history of instability too.

I th8 k you would prefer boring and somewhat unsatisfactory with a lacklustre economy to another Stunde Null.
