Polish women who made amazing careers against patriarchal society

Poland is the country still haunted by patriarchal traditions which in many cases can be quite discriminatory for women. Things are changing for better, though, coz Polish women have always fought for their rights, even in the darkest ages. Despite narrow-minded males` objections and obstacles.

The latest appointment by the Tusk gov to the position of the boss of Central Anticorruption Agency is Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak.

Special Agent Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak from the Bydgoszcz CBA delegation became the head of this service, which was announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday (December 19). According to our information, she is an officer with extensive investigative experience and is considered resistant to political pressure.

Going back even much, much further, if
you include those outside the realm of politics, for example
Mme. Curie (nee Sklodowska).

Yes, Lyzko, thank you very much, we can also go back in history, even as far as Middle Ages.

The first example of a Polish female who stood up against the patriarchal society is Nawojka from 15th century.

Nawojka - a semi-legendary figure from the 15th century, considered to be the first Polish student and teacher.

In 1414, fifteen-year-old Jakub (or Andrzej, this version is also available) began his studies at the University of Krakow . In fact, it was Nawojka disguised as a boy, according to legend, the daughter of the mayor of Dobrzyń nad Wisłą or - according to other sources - the daughter of the rector of the Gniezno parish school .

She learned to read and write in Polish and Latin at home. She was prevented from continuing her education by the customs of the time prohibiting the admission of women as uni students. Seeing no other option, Nawojka resorted to trickery. When in 1417, after three years of studies, she was preparing to take her final bachelor's exams , she was exposed by a male student. According to another version, Nawojka fell ill and the doctor who examined her revealed the hoax. There is also a version that Nawojka was exposed while pouring water during Wet Monday .

Nawojka was brought before a bishop's court . She avoided the stake thanks to the excellent certificates of science and morality given by her professors. Immediately afterwards, she entered the convent, where she ran a novitiate school . Years later, she became the abbess of the monastery.

PS. The first female dormitory of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, established in 1929, and the street (an extension of Czarnowiejska Street ) are named after Nawojka .

Mme. Curie (nee Sklodowska).

Women were created to make babies, not to play with sh*it that makes your hair fall out.

Yes, she is your boss. According to the Polish saying: the man is the head of the family while the woman is the neck who directs the head.

First European woman to summit Mt Everest.

...who had all her junk carried to the base camp by men.

When she was done, she left the garbage for men to clean up...If she broke her butt, she would choose an all-men rescue team. No chicks! Me is enough!

Don't forget that as an alien I also have eyes in the back. But I was thinking about something else, she is indeed one of the few specialists in her field who are not men and she comes from Poland.

Wanda Rutkiewicz,

A reckless moron whose body has still not been found. Mercilfully, the idiot was too sick to have kids. Quoting:

Despite being physically weakened she decided against descending. Carsolio said he did not have the mental strength to convince her to descend because he was weakened as well.

So it was a man who had the brains there. But, as a typical woman, she wouldn't listen...

Eyes in black?? Do you mean she beats you?? Sorry, that is too bossy.

whose body has still not been found.

Excellent you are doing research on our posts. Our education isn`t futile, after all.
Thank you, Novi. I really appreciate it.

Anna Walentynowicz. Free trade union activist and co-founder of Solidarity. Her activism and subsequent firing by the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk lead to strikes across Poland, contributing to the downfall of the Communist government.

In 2006, she received Poland's highest honour, the Order of the White Eagle.

Sadly, she died in the Smolensk plane crash in 2010.

Let us mention she challenged Lech Wałęsa`s leadership of Solidarity and accused him of being a communist agent.

Initially, she was a welder. Later on, she became a gantry crane operator. Tough woman !!!

Tough woman !!!

All women of the world, unite and fight for your rights!

It's both symptomatic and ironic, but not shocking, that the most reckless woman since Mieszko I was selected as an embodiment of female virtues.

Now if she risked her life to save a puppy ...There is an upside to it ... a grateful puppy. There was no upside to climbing a hill with a coke machine and a restroom at the top as climber #9753.

No, she does not. Quoting:

Stefan Kieniewicz, in a more critical treatment in the Polish Biographical Dictionary, notes that a lot of her exploits are poorly documented, and it is not always possible to separate legend from facts.[12] He notes it is not certain she ever commanded any unit, and that her role as the company commander of the 25th Regiment was more honorary than real.

A woman in combat - just like a firewoman - is pure liability, a nuisance, and another loudmouth to argue with.

Guys, you have to try harder...

From one of your favourite sources:

"All-female Israeli 'lionesses' combat unit of just 13 soldiers 'killed nearly 100 Hamas gunmen as they helped liberate kibbutz'"

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12669623/israeli-lionesses-kill-hamas-gunmen.html

About a quarter of the IDF is female troops.

A country that must draft women into combat duty is doomed. For one...Women can't carry as much ammo, run as fast, or overpower a guy...

They are just a notch above kids. Would take your kids to war? In any contest, 15-year-old boys win against women.
