Treatment for Ulcerative Colitis in Poland

Hi,

In the coming year or so, it might be possible for me to move to Poland to live with my bf (we are thinking of getting married). At the moment there is just one hurdle in the way and that is the fact that I have a very, very bad case of Ulcerative Colitis that requires biological treatment. Regular medication I tried in the past either didn't work or caused such severe side effects that they landed me in the hospital on more than one occasion, which is why I was forced to go on Remicade and later on Entyvio when my stupid body developed antibodies against the Remicade. The biological treatment seems to be the only thing that keeps me in remission on the one hand but on the other hand it's also insanely expensive (in the range of possibly thousands of PLN per month) and idk if it's even covered by the Pollish National Health Fund.

Does anyone here have any experience with similar treatments in Poland? What does one do if they have extremely severe UC but can't afford such expensive treatments? Idk if this is even an appropriate thing to ask on a forum tbh but I'm not sure who to ask about something like this.

I am afraid you will need to ask this question on a specialised health and medication forum.

Some people I respect advocate for carnivore diet (mostly meat products) that alters gut bacteria and reduce inflammation. Dietary changes offer the most sustainable long-term solution compared to pharmaceutical medications which can manage symptoms but not cure underlying conditions. If they cure the patient, it's not good for their own business interests.

Doctors don't think that way.

According to a documentary I've seen scientific research has shown that eating a lot of meat leads to greater risk of cancer. That's because eating meat stimulates growth hormone and if you eat a lot of meat the cells in your body grow too fast and don't develop properly or something like that (as far as I remember).
