Stasiek Wielanek (1949-2016) specialized in what might be called urban folk music, especially that of Warsaw, often containing allusions to the demimonde.

My favorite song of his is the tango "Więzenne rozstanie" (prison breakup)

Pathetic excuse. No, most readers don`t understand Polish or if they do, it is basic understanding like yours, Good Morning or Thank you etc. If they did, this forum would be run in Polish, not English.

For example, I could count your or Joker`s posts written in Polish in the Polish threads here with the fingers of my two hands. And you have polluted this forum with thousands of entries in English.

SDM (abbreviation of Stare Dobre Małżeństwo - Good Old Marriage) had their greatest success at the end of the PRL and first couple of years of freedom.

They took 'student music' (accompanied by an acoustic guitar) and expanded it with other instruments to create an almost chamber music effect and added delicate harmonies.

They were well known for adapting the poems of the unconventional poet Edward Stachura, a very, very rough Polish equivalent to Beat generation authors like Kerouac or Burroughs).

Stachura himself had recorded some of these but SDM versions were more developed.

Maybe my favorite of their songs is "jest już za późno" (it's too late now).
