History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

The Poles have yet to fully accept Jews due to past shady dealings but the position is looking rosier.

What are you kidding me? Jews were accepted before any other country in Europe, and were doing very well for themselves since the early middle ages. There were always some ignorants who were anti-semetic, but there is always some sentiment like that, in every country. Even America.

I repeat, God will judge who is right, and who is wrong. The deaths of my blood brothers will not go unpunished.

My friend, my mind is working quite well. I am not sick, like you.

You offend and intire nation calling them barbarians

Oh? I offended? I must not have noticed. I invoked TRUTH, my friend, not hatred. Polish Patriots are what keeps that country afloat and alive, and where it is today.

All you'll achieve will be a few bubbles of foam in your mouth produced by your uncontrollable anger

Yes, maybe, or else I may just be able to sway enough people to see the truth. Thanks for your input, creep.

I understand that you are seeing in me a representation of all those bad things which happend to Poles but I am not going to give in to your sentiments. You are just being unrealistic dreamers.

Yes, we are being unrealistic, to think that someone could listen to the light of reason is rather unrealistic. But anyway, there is always God who will judge in the end, who is right and who is wrong.

So it is about the land after all=money.

Again. This only shows me Miranda, that you are obviously already for one side, and that is o.k. In the end, you have that right, and I respect you. But show some respect for the dead ones, and the ones who suffered. There is no price that you can put on a family member. I would give everything in this world to see some of my family again..

I never did. But forcing your way on others as to what it means to be a patriot or not is rude. There are as many patriots as there are people.

How was I forcing anything? Dearest Miranda, if you like to be blind, let it be so. I was trying to state my opinion. If it didn't do anything, I shall move on.

fair enough, it should not be forgotten, but living in the present is more valuable and it doesn;t mean that you have.

kepp living in the past and let me know how it works for you.

How so? Everything today is driven by history. It works fine, thank you. How can you sleep at night by trying to forget what happened in history? To your forefathers? To YOUR blood? Someone would have to give me a solid hit to the head with a sledgehammer for me to forget these struggles! I hope you were not serious with your sarcasm, for everyone needs comfort in history. If we live only for today, and do not remember what happened yesterday, what will happen tomorrow?

no, calling Ukrainin barbarians is not hatered.

Again, with your sarcasm. I was of course not calling all these people on the plains Barbarians. The brutes that took part in the murder of thousands of Polish, you would not call barbarians or savages? Please, go on then, and do not remember the victims.

it went both ways , Polish were not angels either.

No, they were not. And that is clear to say. However, Polish never stabbed a country in the back in their time of need! They were not cowards who looked for split second barbarian instincts to drive them.

most people will have it given the circumstances.

Maybe it is time that you give up your Victim attitude and move on, but than again, it is only a suggestion.

I never thought of myself as a victim. You are a victim, as much as I am. All of our Polish brothers and sisters are victims. You should know that, and start showing respect for the ones who have gone to be with God.

so what? are you gonna live in the past, pondering in Greece how good of the Pole you are? Good luck, but if past history is the only link to your Polishness (including hatered to Ukrainins, you are no better then the so called "moderator").

I'd like you to know that my family wasn't exactly "welcomed' with open arms after the end of the war. Many of the were true Poles, who didn't accept the new communist regime. For that reason, only, am I in Greece now as a young man. I take it to heart when someone accuses me of being un-patriotic.

The first step in moving on is to always have in mind the past history of our brothers and sisters who perished for our freedom today, and who were so brutally murdered by Nazi and Communist slime. How would my forefathers respect me if I simply forgot what had happened to them? No, never. For God, and for the motherland, I shall never forget these atrocities for the life of me.

I am not driven by hatred. I am driven by facts. Fact! Ukrainians did this to us in our time of need! I see no reason to discuss earlier "provocatives" as a reason for this. Simply, it was not provoked, it was lust of blood.

From your posts, one may conclude that you are hugely penetrated by Russian propaganda and present only the facts, which were often "created" by NKVD or anecdotal evidences.

No, you are wrong there my friend. YOU are the one penetrated by propaganda of the West, which was ultra-pacifist in nature and shied away from facts. They were afraid of Russia, so they kept the facts away and closed the books so to speak. These genocides did happen! Ukrainians saw the opportunity, and showing their true barbaric and savage spirit, began to attack their Polish neigbours, in villages, towns all over Poland and "Ukraine."

Traiskirchen,

You are obviously blind to some history. Poles were always free, never occupied, until they were stabbed in the back by the 3 powers of Austria-Hungary, Russia and Germany. They fought bitterly during this time to free themselves of these chains.

Ukrainians on the other hand, were never independent. They didn't even exist as a nation until recently. When I think of Ukrainian, I think of Russians, or Poles, not a seperate nation in themselves. The barbaric Kossaks ruined it for the rest of the population by revolting, when indeed, the country could have flourished with a strong Polish hand in the 17th century. Who knows? Perhaps this land could be a lot richer today..

You are one sick man.

No, you are the sick man, for not seeing the light of truth. We are talking about Ukrainians, the same people who found any possible way to kill their Polish friends from the beginning of their being. They were never happy with Poles being there, and their barbaric tendencies always drove them to do what they did best. That is to murder.

Polish hussars should have driven them deeper into Russia when they had the chance.. we would now not be facing this challenge. They are only a stumbling block in our negotiations with Russia.

I wonder whether you are a result of interbreeding between Gestapo and KGB.

You laugh. But indeed I am not fully Polish, but I at least I am a true Pole, whilst the rest of you are nothing but "moderators"

No, simply because that land was never German. It was through history, Polish. Ukrainian lands on the other hand, were Polish. The people there were a hybrid of Poles and Russians who interbred. The end result was quite a lot of barbarians who respect nothing, and nobody, except blood.

popular topic in Poland but the fact remains that Poles were the occupying country.

No my friend. That land was Polish by nature, Polish by agreement. The savages that lived there didn't know when they were conquered. Poland was doing all of them a favour by spreading their civilized ways to these people.

Ukrainian equivalents of Polish freedom fighters in 1831 and 1863.

Do not offend the Polish freedome fighters by comparing them to the brutal savages who raped and murdered anything in their path to get their way!

As much as NormalRussian is coming off as a provocator, I have to agree with what he is saying with the Ukrainians. It is FACT, that they served in special SS units and stabbed Poles in the back, murdered, pillaged, raped, the Poles living in the East.

Ukrainians have never been "perfect" example of a friendly Slavic country to Poles. Poles have always had to deal with these barbarian Kossaks. That will never change.

However, NormalRussian, when you said that Poles concentrate on Katyn rather than Ukrainian SS units, you are wrong. This is well known, and both issues have been discussed. Russians were in fact, a lot worse than Ukrainians with their peace treaty with Hitler in 39' to eat up the rest of Poland in the east.

But I wouldn't agree to alienating Russia all the time...I don't see them as our enemy...will wait how they develop first...

No? But Russians are always the instigators. They have not shown any willingness to negotiate with Poles on many fronts.. Maybe this will change after Tusk's visit. I hope it will resolve a few issues, or at least finally set some discussions in motion.

Poland is doing a bad thing, I believe, by not concentrating on European relations with Germany and Russia, and instead causing a disturbance with their talks with the U.S. They should look at the situation at home, before looking to outside. Russians have become quite enraged. Hopefully situation will diffuse.

*heads back to bar*

May I compliment you on your perfect german!

Thank you, my father taught me some, and I took a German course at University.
And, German is quite important tool in business sector.

I actually envision a good relationship between us (once Poland let's go of old grudges).

I don't think it is just Poles that have an anamosity towards Germans. Germans also share that feeling. But I agree, we should move on to some extent, (but never forget the past), and begin to deal more closely. It would greatly benefit both countries for a strong Polish economy. It will be soon.

But why shop? Jealousy is the evil that drives wars..! You should know that. That is why the Germans wanted Eastern Europe, and its fertile plains. ; )

Must go now...my girls is already tapping her dainty foot impatiently....sorry :(

Aww! Aber wir hatten gerade angefangen!
