Language / A similar expression in Polish? [4]

A comfort blanket is an expression for something that a person is attached to because it gives them a feeling of safety or security. ... I know the direct translation is 'kocyk komfortowy'. I wonder if there is a similar expression in Poland which more or less means the same thing? Thank you.

Off-Topic / Are Polish Christians here? [141]

Christians

My experience is that most Polish catholics are religious, don't however confuse this with christianity.
A lot think that 'The Good Samaritan' is a pub in London.

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

Are you non-white ?

Sorry Grzegorz, not used to the forum, this is my first go. But no, I'm not non-white.

Im slightly tanned but that may have something to do with spending time in the sun !

Yeah, I'm slightly tanned too, nice to see you have a sense of humour. I assume you realise my mistake.

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

I'm British living in a small village in Poland. A lot of the people here are hostile and suspicious towards me, I don't know if this makes them racist. I like to go out walking and obviously see other people, at first I used to smile, and although they would openly stare at me they didn't return a smile to me, so now I don't bother. I was told that Polish people were very friendly helpful people........don't think so.
