Law / Buying a vehicle in GERMANY, Importing it into Poland. ALSO - Import question on personal vehicle. [3]
Hello,
Looking to purchase a vehicle in Germany, preferably a wagon (Mercedes, Audi )
My question is, if I purchase privately - What fees are charged in Poland, my concern is VAT? and tariffs.
Example 1
Private sale - 17,000euro - vehicle has a engine under 2.0l
Example 2
Private sale - 44,000 euro - Vehicle is a BMW M4 with a 3.0l - I assume I would get hit with an 18,1% tariff because of the engine?
Example 3
Dealership in Germany has the vehicle listed for 17,000 euro (small 1.8l engine) with their 19% vat (gross priced in)
Would I have to pay the additional 4% extra VAT in Poland ? plus 3.1% customs tax? or would I have them sell it to me NET without VAT , and pay VAT in Poland?
My friend suggested buying cars here cheaper, and having them shipped. Although, from what I understand you need to own it for 6 + months in your native country.
Is there a possibility to buy here now, export it into the EU and drive the vehicle with Canadian plates and put liability insurance, and afterwards claim them as importing belongings into the country and have zero tax to pay ? any loop holes like this?
Was looking to buy a AUDI R8.. lol
I appreciate any help, its tough learning new regulations and laws !
