I really don't like the spelling. I'm not going to argue about it incessantly but it is a bit infantile and unnecessary.

As for the risk to civilisation, yes - under the current government Russia entered too hastily into a conflict that definitely has potential to cause much damage to the world.

I sure do.

Russians have great sense of humour, they are friendly and loyal, and when you get to know them better they will treat you like a family member. As people in general, they are honest, kind, patient and long-suffering. Great material for friends, not so great for enemies.

I've been to Russia, I have Russian friends, I love Russian music, language and literature - how likely do you think it is that some random fruitcake (every country has them) on an internet board is going to influence my opinion? Not very likely, right? :)


There are Holocaust deniers, so I suppose there are also Katyń-deniers, Moon landing deniers and all other kinds of fruitcakes.

Yes, and it's absolutely ridiculous.

The best rating would be a result of having multiple loans and paying them off on schedule, using credit cards regularly and having a generous overdraft limit. Then, thanks to your high credit rating, you can get another loan (with interest, provision, insurance etc.) and increase your cc and overdraft limits.

In other words, people are being rewarded with higher rating for being financial retards. :)

Of course, there are also people who fall behind with their installments, keep carrying the balance on cc making only minimum payments, and keep using their overdraft limits. Such cases are beyond retardation, but that's the trap so many fall into.

I don't have sources but I know PSL people, so-called "terrain structures". A lot of "old-timers" there and generally the part of PSL that wanted the deal with Agrounia is mostly pro-Russian. Of course, with the current official policies not many people will admit that in public.

The problem is that if the guy never took any loan in Poland, doesn't have a credit card or overdraft limit, then the BIK report will just say that they cannot establish his wskaźnik. The BIK rating, however, is not neccessary to obtain a loan.

My wife and I paid off our mortgage more than 5 years ago (BIK is only interested in loans newer than 60 months), we don't use credit cards (only debit ones) and we don't have overdraft limit (Dave Ramsey style lol). BIK says they cannot establish our credit rating (I checked after the last loan was paid off). Of course, banks see our income and they keep offering us loans but we keep telling them "no, thank you". That's why this thread is surprising to me. I never knew it's so difficult to get a loan if you're a foreigner, even with regular income. I bet it's different with EU-nationals, so that's probably another thing that Brexit messed up for UK citizens. :-/

Why would they? They would immediately lose half of their hardcore voters. It's better for them to wait for PiS's failure to form a government or the failure of minority government and then inevitably gain even more votes in the snap elections.


Not only Konfa but also Agrounia, a large chunk of PSL (remember all the drama with Małgorzata Zych?) and several smaller parties, monarchists, "Myśl Polska" circles, Rodacy Kamraci etc.

Also, you would be surprised how much old sympathy for Russia is left in Lewica (especially SLD and UP). Really, Poland is not such a Ukraine-supporting monolith as some people try to picture it and as PiS is trying to convince us.

You only asked about their political attitudes, whether they were liberal or putinist. I suppose most of them were somewhere in between - people are complicated and in most cases politics doesn't define their identity as human beings.

Also, there is a huge difference between how people talk and interact in the real life compared to internet boards. Internet tends to bring out the worst in people, and one has to be aware of it not to fall into this trap himself.


I know the guy. He's OK but a bit naive. I remember his video about being shocked and awed with Poland's military parade. The parade was impressive but Russians know exactly what we have and what we don't have, as well as our current strengths and weaknesses, so judging a country by its military parade is a bit... well, naive. I like the guy though. As for watching the video - I really can't watch all the videos posted here. I don't have that much life left. ;)

But sure, it would be nice to have a joint Russian-Polish commission to write history textbooks for schools. Maybe one day.

From your list, I recall talking about literature a lot. Music and cuisine, not so much.

Apart from that I discussed sport (mainly football), history, politics, women, cars, religion and tens of other topics that people talk about. There is not much difference in real life when it comes to social interaction that I had with Russians, Germans, the Irish, Scots, Italians or Americans.

Well, if I really had to find some characteristic points: Italians had great sense of humour, Scots were cheeky jokers too, Germans were incredibly civil (and incredibly beautiful, because - strangely enough - it was only German ladies that I met), Russians treated me almost like a member of their family, Americans were very direct but also very civil, and the Irish are by far the best drinkers of all the mentioned groups.

People are people, Paulina. I am way too old and I traveled way too much to fall for all this "orc", "SS", untermenschen nonsense. Sorry.


The truth doesn't. The way certain events are interpreted and presented depends very much on those relations.

In 2009 we had brilliant relations with Germany and Putin condemning Ribbentrop-Molotov pact in Westerplatte. Can you imagine this today?

I don't know about "putinist Russians" but Vladimir Putin himself talked about the "immoral character" of Ribbentrop Molotov pact...
