History / Joining Polish Army and Citizenship [NEW]

Father US citizen joined Polish Army for WW2. Did soldiers oath to Poland and lose US citizenship? Have documents about him being able to repatriate to US after war. Does this mean he lost US Citizenship, became Polish citizen during war? Any special consideration for getting Polish citizenship for me now?

Hi No although he did fight for the country he never made it to Poland before the end of the war. Thank you!

To add more context my grandparents were born in Poland but came over before 1920 and I have not aware what they did as far as their Polish citizenship.
