Polish Grandfather in Scotland ww2

Hi I hope I can get some help on this subject. My gran had a wartime affair with a polish soldier and at the end of the war he moved to Chicago.

I have little information and there are things my father just isn't willing to discuss.
Hopefully I can be aimed in the correct way to find out where my grandfather grew up and about his life in the USA.
