Law / Running a Car in Poland as a UK visitor - purchasing, registering and insuring it being a non-resident? [2]
I have a small flat in Poland, visiting six or seven times a year and with the intention of moving full time when I retire. I want to have use of a car when I am there and being on a limited budget have bought a cheap LHD Polish registered 1997 VW Golf through a dealer over here in the UK. I now want to register and insure it in Poland for use primarily in Poland. Can anyone advise on the best way to do this? I have heard I may need a temporary residents document to do this? Ideally I want to register and insure in my name in Poland, use the car for a few months in UK to make sure it is reliable and then drive it over to use in Poland. I understand once insured in Poland it can be used by friends and family who visit as it is the car and not the driver that is insured? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
