Life / Orange Flex without plan [8]

@Cargo pants

Yes, I tried using their app, I had a prepaid account and I lost the sim and the sim expired, so I can log in but I cant do anything on the portal because I have no active sims.

By the way I signed up for Orange Flex and I used the Orange Flex app to chat with a customer service rep who told me that I wont be able to get incoming calls and or SMS's after I cancel the plan, so I will cancel the plan.

Life / Orange Flex without plan [8]

I know about prepaid but it isn't a option now, I'm not in Poland at the moment and I need to get SMS's from my bank, with Flex I can get a esim without visiting a store which isn't a option with prepaid.

Life / Orange Flex without plan [8]

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to downgrade a Orange Flex plan to 0 monthly fee after the first month, I understand I won't be able to make calls and/or browse on the internet, I need it only for incoming calls, I dont mind paying once every 6 or so months to keep the number from expiring.

Travel / American Visiting Polish Military Base. Issues? [13]

@terri
The news articles are misleading, Americans wont require visas to visit Schengen countries like Poland, they will require a ETIAS which is the equivalent to the USA ESTA, it will take 5 minutes to apply for and will cost 7 euros and will be valid for 3 years, for most Americans it won't be a issue at all, but for those who have a criminal record it might make traveling to Europe a bit more trickier.

Law / Poland's citizenship by descent question. Polish great-great grandfather arrived in the USA as a kid. [76]

Citizenship by descent - when your parent had Polish citizenship, not your greatgrandparent.

You are correct that the parents need to have Polish citizenship, but if the great grandparent was Polish there is a chance the children are too, my children for example got Polish citizenship because their great grandfather was Polish, My grandfather was Polish and I inherited the citizenship and so did my kids.

The rule is that it cant skip a generation, so if in the middle there as a person who wasn't qualified for citizenship or has lost citizenship prior to the birth of the next generation, or girls under 18 that her father lost his citizenship prior to 1951 then the future generations are not qualified.

Life / Prejudice about Poles; Poland has changed [39]

I grew up in NY to a half Polish mom, my only contacts with poles were with the Polish men and women usually older ones who worked as laborers and did housework, they were illegal immigrants who worked at minimum wage, therefore my prejudice was always that the Poles are second class citizens.

Fast forward 25 years I found out that as a grandson of a Polish citizen I am entitled to Polish citizenship, I did some research from where my grandfather came from etc, that's when I started to feel a connection to my Polish past, I felt like a Pole but I still thought of Poland almost as of a third world country.

Last week was the first time I visited Poland after I received my citizenship, I visited Poland in the past but I visited mostly small towns, but this time I visited Warsaw and I was surprised to see how modern Poland became, I realized that cities like Warsaw are as modern as any other European city, and my entire view about Poland changed.

Anyone else felt the same before realizing it was not the case?
