Law / Getting a Polish drivers license / Poland's residence permit (how long it might take to get?) [25]

Hello,
I have a B and C driver license from an EU country which I am about to exchange transfer for a Polish driver license. Do you know how much is the medical check-up for it? Also, I have a B and C driver license which I may try to get the Polish drive license for (even though I don't need my C driver license anymore). Do you know if the medical check-up will be different for the C driver license? I don't speak Polish, so if it gets to complicate the medical check-up I may just transfer my B driver license. Any help will be appreciate.

Life / How safe is the city of Bydgoszcz? [9]

Thank you very much. Since I have a 5 years old son, my plan was to stay initially not to far away from downtown, so I am close to everything, I guess.... Do you know where I can get a map of Bydgoszcz showing the districts or neighborhoods?

Life / How safe is the city of Bydgoszcz? [9]

To whom it may concern,

I am about to move to Bydgoszcz very shortly. I've never thought that Bydgoszcz would be a dangerous city in Poland., but when looking for apartments or houses in Bydgoszcz, I always get questions such as would you like to have flat/house guarded?or do you want a secure parking?. Could anyone currently living in Bydgoszcz inform me about this and give me some advice about the neighborhoods? Thanks, pete

USA, Canada / Are prices for Laptops, Cell Phones or Tablets in Poland cheaper than in the US? [18]

Hi,

I am moving to Bydgoszcz from USA in a few months. Thinking about a laptop, cell phone or even a table that I may need once in Bydgoszcz, I was wondering I will find them in Poland cheaper than in USA. Otherwise, I will buy them in the US, and bring them with me to Poland. Please advice about this.

Real Estate / Zones to live in Bydgoszcz [12]

Hi there,

I will be moving shortly from USA to Bydgoszcz to work for a private company. I am currently looking for apartment/house to rent, and I will greatly appreciate if someone give me some advice about what are the benefits or drawbacks of living in certain zones/areas/districts. To be honest I have the opportunity to visit the city centre, but I am not sure if that will fit my needs having two children (5 and 9 years old). Also, I am planing to get a car later on (maybe after my 6 first months), thus I am OK having to use the public transportation for short distances.
