Travel / Greatest Old Towns in Poland [74]

Isn't there also a bit that is actually called Stare Miasto? A bit north of the Main Town.

Yes, there is - however it's not what pawian was showing. In this case, "old town" refers to the eldest part, but not the representative one. Old town and main town are quite commonly mixed up. Does that make sense?

pawian, sorry for being anal but as a citizen (well, ex-citizen for an undefined period of time) of Freie Stadt Danzig I'm forced to clarify that we dont have an Old Town. It's called the Main Town. Yes I know this is irrelevant, but...you know.

I'm also Polish, so yes, I can confirm the tail part, but my family didn't eat lots of cabbage and gherkins, therefore my skin is not properly green :( But you know, be cool and don't give out the secrets, k? Not everyone has to know that we are invading indeed, in more ways they imagined. Polish women will seduce, lie and cheat in order to get more men, get up the duff, populate the land with half-Polish babies (so we can then have the benefits!) while Polish men are going to fertilise local women and that's how we're going to take over. Beware.

...I'd also like to throw in - I'm sure it was said lots of times before - that Poland is not Eastern Europe. It's Central. It used to be Eastern from a political point of view as part of the Eastern block, but not since 1989.

I also can't believe you actually are having a conversation about how Polish women walk and how is that different from others.

I reckon Poles are so different because of all the polar bears wandering round the streets of Polish cities.

Dude, my ex-father-in-law asked me if he should bring his puffy winter jacket to Gdansk and whether we had pinguins. This was in late July.

Calopers for birth are far more or were far more commonly used in the former communist countries, hence some Poles having the distinct pointy head look that this can leave after a soft babies skull has been gripped by metel clamps during birth......

Errr...wow. Just 'wow' regarding that and the previous post. You made my afternoon.

I'm not sure what went wrong with quoting and why this post looks weird, but nevermind.
