Travel / Going to Poland and looking for some antiques [24]

What about the antiques from other parts of Europe? How did they get to Poland?

Is it just possible that they were bought years ago, just brand new back then? realy.. Like there were no people who could afford to buy furnitures.. or travel

It is full of foreign items. How did they get there? don't answer because I already know.

I'm sure you do..

unless you would like to step off your pedestal and actually do something then keep your critique to yourself because I am stating a fact.

They actuly did. They made a law regulating the export of national heritage. Executing it is a different matter. There will always be somebody who would do it illegaly and others giving them a hint how.

many people in other countries don't appreciate their antiques being sold in Poland--but that is the way it goes.

for the reason of.. why exactly? What if they were bought back there, brought to Poland and resold here, than it makes it wrong ..because?

Looking for bargians in illegal antiquities is neither cute, amusing or even clever. It is all just wrong.

Real Estate / Are there any legal Poland realtors here? [5]

Try looking for one that is affiliated in a PFRN- Polska Federacja Rynku Nieruchomości -> pfrn.pl
or/and WSPON ->Warszawskie Stowarzyszenie Posdernikow w Obrocie Nieruchomosciami -> wspon.org.pl
usualy those who are also use MLS multiple listings service. You can actually check the list of companies at -> mls.org.pl/

Law / How can i get Poland residence card? Moroccan married to a Polish citizen. [16]

LOL!

I know of some Poles taking singing lessons and classes to make sure they're not stuck in the office there singing it again and again or having to hum it again and again until the card office's laser printer finally detects the right semi-quaver

You guys really got carried away :D good one

Life / Please help me, with deciding a good Polish name for my baby boy :) [48]

how bout the following tho .

sasha

actually... Sasha is a boy's name - originates in Russia and it's a short from Aleksander.

I'd like a name that can flow well both in Polish and English.

if so, than try to find a name that writes and sounds the same way in both languages and doesn't determine if he should feel he is polish or english :

Adam
Damian
Daniel
Robert

Love / Need some advice on Polish wedding (after our baby is born?) [5]

Congratulations! I would wait till the baby is born, but you should realise that Polish families are mostly very traditional about those things and you may feel some pressure from the society (parents, aunts and uncles, neighbours,) to marry in a church before the baby is born.. so the baby would be born in a "legitimate family", and thats what most of people do (stupid) , but you ARE married already :) So I would advise you to relax, enjoy your time together, use this special time to prepare yourself and your home for the new member of your family and minimalise stress (and there is a lot of it while preparing a wedding) OR get married fast (fastest is during the week - like wednesdays or mondays) make a really really small wedding party - more like a dinner just for parents, and make a proper party afterwards when you're ready. Make note that after the baby is born, there is no right time to do the party.. He/She will totaly fill your days. Anyway, Congratulations and good luck!

P.S. It is more likely to be socially accepted if you live in a bigger city.

Law / Am I eligible to apply for citizenship of Poland? [11]

Sorry to say but no. Your grand father would have had to have Polish citizenship. Since he didn't and after Poland apeared on the map again, he didn't make any attempt to get it, officialy he remained a Russian, even if he had typically polish surname. I know a guy from Brazil with the same situation.
