Travel / First Time Visit To Poland (travelling from England) [14]
Well the trip has been and gone. 2013 miles there and back to the UK. Just wanted to say what a beautiful country Poland is and how much we enjoyed our visit.
We entered Poland via Cottbus, what an experience that section of the road is, 40 miles of lumps and bumps! We eventually arrived at our campsite in Katowice with the weather a balmy 28 degrees. (happy days) . From our base at Camping 215 we traveled to the nearby towns of Tychy, Zory, Rybnik and Bytom stopping to photograph the local industry. I was impressed with Katowice, although undergoing major development the city retains a vibrant, friendly and bustling atmosphere.
The people we met on our travels have become good friends and we are definitely going to return again next year to see some more. I hope Poland finds it's feet in Europe and can somehow still retain the Poland i saw on our travels and doesn't succumb too much to lures of globalisation.
