It's not my opinon that those who want their domestic work have done by others are lazy, just in contrary. I had met some famlies who hired housekkeper/cleaning lady and I am aware what the pace of life they have, other duities etc and if they can afford hiring some help, that's great. I am not the one, who you are explained to why they hire cleaning lady e.g.

From a perspective of a person, who as a student,had to rely on oneself and had to find an extra source of finance, , this kind of work was the last resort and I am happy that at that time there were people who needed cleaning lady, as for me it was a help in difficult situation. Both sides benefits here. Sometimes, even among my family and firiends there were opinions that those who hire cleaning lady could do those work by themselves and are lazy.. I always explained them, that thanks to those people, people in troubles, as I was, could earn some money. Of corse there are some pros and cons and sometimes people who hire cleaning ladies look down on them, which is sad, but there are as well decent people, who respect people who who work for them, and don't use the fact, that a person who does this work is determined to work and can be paid low, they treat her respectively.

Here is the accommodation offer from Kraków: The prices of flat, depend on how big flat you want to rent. Here the prices differ as well due to the location of the flat.

You can as well try to share the flat, renting a room in students flat, it will reduce the costs of renting. I don't know Karków well, but still when it comes to the prices of clothes, food, services I think they are the same as the other cities.

When it comes about the price of the flat, it depends from the place (big, small city, village), , hence maybe the difference between costs given by olsztyn and pawian

In the city one room flat (kawalerka) will cost you 1000-...zł + media (electricity etc.)
2 room flat: 1200-1400zł + bills

you can have a look at the prices at the gumtree :warszawa.gumtree (choose, which region you are interested in (Mazowieckie/Warszawa - zmień (change) ) and then go to nieruchomości - dom/mieszkanie do wynajęcia (real estates - house/flat for rent)

You will see, that the prices differ

The prices of food. clothes will be similar in all regions.

It depends what your life style is. If you cook at home, you can save some money. If you decide to eat out, the price of the dinner is around 15-25zł (it differs what you order, though :) ) But I think, that daily price for food will be around 25-40zł (750-1200zł per month)

I think, that if you have 3000-4000zł/month you can live on a good life evel.

You misunderstood:
13 hours = 5h cleaning + 8h my permament work.. As a cleaner I had 10zł/h. I was to clean the whole house in 4-5hours (for cleaning the house I received 50zł). i often had to do the work in 4hours wanted to be on time at my permament work place. Add here cleaning all windows every 3-4months, for which maybe your cleaner is paid seperately.

Cleaning a 150 sq.m house in four to five hours means you are doing a very shoddy job :) you even didn't offend me. I know what good job I did, and every person for whom I worked would never resigned from me if it wasn't me who wanted to quitt.

During last 10 months, appart from my full time work, I worked as a cleaner (once a week ( then my work day was 13hours). I could get in this way extra 200zł per month, but you have to include time to get to that place, plus, you don't do those jobs I conclude,, but those who do, know what effort does it take to clean e.g.150m house in 4-5hours.

I was working as a cleaner also as a student. After a year and a half of such work I started to have problems with health - osteoarthrisis - that was diagnosis. Doctor said - any very exhausting works. I still continued working for some time, later quitted, finished studies, found job, fortunately not physical one,, but low paid, so again when prices increased I came back to cleaning, hiding that fact from my emplyer in permamant placework, hiding the fact that I am a university graduate and what I do from the person where I cleaned. I hid it, as maybe it's common that people with higher education do this kind of work abroad, but not here. Abroad doing such jobs you can lead a proper life without worrying can tyou afford such basics as food, clothes, accommodation, here it's the way just to survive.

Harry - be a cleaner for some time in private houses. Your cleaning lady works at your place, plus probably in some other. Add her time to get from place to place. After some years of such intensive work you may deteriorate your health to the point that you may not do such job anymore, and what then?

After some break and getting better a bit, I standed again as a part time cleaner 10 months. I quitted in June as it's more reasonably due to my health. Fortunately I found another extra part time job, not as a cleaner fortunately, but for some time I worked in 3 places altogether, working 55hours per week. Only to the other source of finance support I could give up cleaning job, which is an extreme, but in Poland extremes happen very often.

milky: Either what you are sayiing is a joke and irony, or you are completely not aware how life and earnings in Poland look like.

Poland for sure has its good sides, but not when it comes about job market. If somebody has already some savings and is planning to come to Poland, lucky him, but if you were to be the only breadwinner with children without any money at the start, it will be very hard to make ends meet.

I am a university graduate, and I am ashamed when I am to confess how much do I earn after 3 years experience in my work. "Milky" - tell me where I can earn at least 2500zł, I would be glat to be giving such information?. I will quit my present work at once.

The life is getting more and more difficult here when it comes about make ends meet as the prices are increasing and solaries were rised just a bit (minimal salary increased from 1384 up to 1500zł - brutto, so you get around 1150zł netto). If you are on your own, you even can't rent a flat. A lot of my friends who came to study to the other city with no family and had to rent a flat as a student, still share a flat after completing university as they are not able to rent it on their own, as the min.cost of the one room flat is around 1000zł/month.

Polish girl - Think, for how long your saving will last, as later finding job here is another story, often frustrating.
