Life / Are Polish roads really this bad? [237]

You are such an ignorant person that I don`t even try to comment on your posts

Really what's so ignorant in what i said? The Poles gave the contracts to Chinese contractors which where made to buy materials at super inflated prices by Polish suppliers and therefore couldn't afford to finish the job. The Polish government went back to the EU with a bigger begging bowl to get the job finished.. of course this is all lies! doh!

In no other EU country have i ever seen tarmac roads with cart-ruts in them! Well done Poland!

Have you ever actually been to Poland?

Yes I live here... and on average see 1 or 2 accidents (or the aftermath of) a week!

It's 20 points to lose your license in Poland and most speeding fines carry only a 2 point penalty (10x2 point fines) whereas 12 in England (4x3 speeding fines)

Car insurance also is incredibly low and the cost of vehicles at the lower end of the market is incredibly cheap. Add on top of this the state of some of the cars being driven! This makes it easy for idiots to stay on the road cheaply and hard for them to lose thier licenses. The Poles however, will always blame the state of the roads!

As for road building just read the debarcle regarding the Chinese contract for the new motorways and how the Poles would only deal with Polish companies that upped the costs.

Problem with the Polish system is that it is so hard to lose your licence compared to the UK. 4 speeding fines and it's a ban in the UK in Poland you can go on forever (it seems). Also in the UK the pedestrians have 'right of way' and the road system is geared towards them. Drivers in the UK are more careful as a result of this. Uk drivers also 'self police' slowing down the traffic or flashing at dangerous drivers. In the UK it is unacceptable to drive whilst talking on your mobile phone but in Poland it's the norm.

Unless Poland bucks it's idea up regarding road safety they should be banned from driving in the UK unless they are shown (by passing a test) as being competent drivers.

p.s. The EU doesn't build the roads. The roads are funded by the EU but built by incompetent Polish contractors because the insular poles wont get the french, germans or brits to build them properly.

What about road deaths! Polish drivers are the worst in Europe and constantly blame the road (whilst using a mobile phone whilst driving)
