Law / I have to fix Karta Pobytu for EU citizens [20]

Merged:

Karta pobytu for an EU citizen

Hey there,
Can someone tell me how to get a karta pobytu as an EU citizen? I already registered my stay and got the yellow ZR document. I also have a temporary address registration. My very long term goal is to get Polish citizenship but I feel a bit lost as most of the information online are somehow meant for non-EU citizens.

Thanks

Study / Schools to learn Polish language in Poznań? [11]

Kerim
I guess it's just a coincidence that your (sorry, your teacher's) ad appeared with almost the same time on gumtree, right? I really don't mind advertisements as it used to be my bread and butter but I really can't stand fake testimonials.

Work / Moving to Poland to work at a company (Warsaw or Lodz). Average expense per month? [57]

Paritosh: I have accepted the offer to travel, so I do not have much of an option.

You should have done your research BEFORE you accepted the offer. Now you're stuck with it. You'll just have to make the best out of it, as best you can. Good luck!

Don't listen to these bastards. I recently moved to Poland but am still able to save roughly 1000-1500 zł per month even though I earn less than 5000 zł after taxes and do the groceries in Piotr i Paweł. However it's not to be mentioned that I live in Poznań with my gf and therefore I'm able to save 1000 zł on housing compared to living in Warsaw by myself.

If I were you, I would NOT rent a flat for a definite period which enables you to quit your job during the probation time and move back to your home country with no problem.

Study / Schools to learn Polish language in Poznań? [11]

Witam everyone,

I recently moved to Poznań from Budapest where I was learning Polish for 5 semesters already at the Polish Institute. I would like to continue my adventure in Polish grammar, so can anyone recommend me a nice language school here which is suitable for pre-intermediate students as well?

Thanks

Law / Unemployment aid in Poland for an EU citizen [14]

Her parents are from Częstochowa, so she already travels 6 hrs to see them :) Wrocław, Warsaw and Kraków are all easier to access by train from there.

I am really interested in your thoughts so to avoid off-topic, I sent you an email.

Law / Unemployment aid in Poland for an EU citizen [14]

Will she still like you when you're unemployed in Poznan and unable to find work?

Well, I can only hope since I'm not a fortune teller :) She said we'll move to a different city in case I can find a satisfying job there.

Law / Unemployment aid in Poland for an EU citizen [14]

Why are you moving here?

I think most of the guys are going for the same reason: my girl is Polish and I following her. She's been in Budapest for a while but she needs to go back to finish her studies.

Law / Unemployment aid in Poland for an EU citizen [14]

Thanks a lot! You're from Poznań, right? Do you think it's possible to get a job there in 2-3 months time if I don't speak Polish, besides some crap slave labour in a call centre?

Law / Unemployment aid in Poland for an EU citizen [14]

Hello everyone,

I'm a Hungarian who is about to move to Poznań in the next weeks. Even though I'd like to find a job as soon as possible, I'm considering applying for a Polish unemployment aid for the -hopefully- short jobless period. I'm eligible for such benefit in Hungary, so as far as I know, I can get a Polish one too thanks to EU regulation. So I'd like to ask, if anyone has any experience in applying this or if anyone knows the amount of money I can expect.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Law / Question about the drinking laws of Poland. [45]

Merged: Pretending to drink alcohol in street is illegal in Poland?

Hey everyone,

I know that drinking alcohol in public places is very much prohibited but is it against the law to drink water from vodka bottle? My Polish friend told me that I shouldn't play a joke with the police because it's also illegal.

Is it true?

Dziękuję z góry

I've been learning Polish for almost a year but I'm still struggling with pronouncing the sound "y". Can anyone tell me how should I make this sound properly, for example, in which position should my lips and tongue be, at which place of my throat should I create the sound, etc.

Thanks

Work / How to find a job in Poznań? I have Msc in management and speak English/Hungarian/French [9]

Cześć,

I'm about to move to Poznań to my Polish girlfriend but I'm a bit worried about finding a job in that city. My Polish language skills are practically zero but I speak English and Hungarian fluently and French intermediately. Besides this I have MSc in management. Do you guys have any idea how to find a job there?

Thank you from the mountain :) (z góry dziękuję)
