In this case I think that it relates back to a Celtic tribe that expanded into southern Poland around 0 - 200 AD. The tribe was called the Cotini and was related to the Celts that were spread across Europe and into Scotland. In this case the DNA is separated from that in England by 1800 -2000 years. It's also from a group that is located int the Upper Vistula near Krakow and Kielce. Not to many sailers made it that far up the river. It would be much easier to relate to the Scottish peddlers from the 16th century but the gemetics do't match up for our entire group.

There are a small group of us that have yDNA that is very similar to scottish (celtic) DNA (R1b - L47). Due to the rate of genetic changes there is a 1500 -2000 year difference of this group to that found in the UK. This group tends to be from ancestors in the upper Vistula. This could finally give me the explanation of why my ancestors had that genetic material from the Kielce area and when they first arrived in the area. This group can be found at FTDNA.

My grandmother's maiden name was Lipka. Does having the Lipka surname mean that a person was a Lipka Tatar? One of my daughters has slightly oriental eyes and darker skin as does my granddaughter.

The accepted time of departure is 05:30 not 07:00. Is that what you're referring to about 2 hours early? Other than that he personally claimed that the story was true. If it wasn't then the German airforce needed much more training when they have bombers colliding in flight :-)

Thousands of persons of Polish ancestry have had their DNA analyzed through FTDNA. A small group of males from Poland centered near the Kielce area are showing Rb1 yDNA with an L47+ SNP. This is Celtic/German DNA. The age off the DNA shows that the latest common ancestor with Celts/Germans/Scots etc was approx 1900 years ago. This eliminates the Scottish peddler theory for this group. The largest group of L47+ is presently Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland. As another point of interest the parent group of L47 is L48. This is also from the same Celtic/German line but approx. 200 years older. Copernicus was tested as L48+. I don't know if L47 was tested. His father was from the Galacian area near the Check border.

It would be appreciated if anyone has any other information/ideas about why our group of old L47+ is from that area.
