Work / Teaching salary per hour, PhD in Architecture [28]

i have phd in architecture from abroad, i have 4 years teaching experience in 4 countries, i have a small studio and i have done some works ; sorry, but it is not just ab knowing english, surely it is not the asset that i am trying to invet in. I just know from years and years that i have a mission, and this mission is to teach, it is my passion; but it is very sad to know that it is not elavuated enough in poland....once someone told me that teaching in poland is a hobby for architects...while in some other universities in the world (even in some unstable and underdevelopped countties) they pay aloooooooooooooott, over 5000 usd for a phd holder with just 2 years of experience.

what the ministry of education in poland is waiting for to change this system, and carft new one that will bring in new blood to the architectural education and other education fields???

Work / Teaching salary per hour, PhD in Architecture [28]

That s what i was thinking: Erasmus. I thought that universities now in Poland and in particular in main cities are giving or at least willing to provide more lectures in english, and that s a good chance for non-polish to find opportunity. In addition, as more Polish students are willing to travel for either work or internship, having some lectures in english will empower their language skills in their fields.

60 zl does not sound something good, expecially after tax reduction; i wonder how much a phd holder will get then.

any one knows how much they pay at warsaw polytechnic university?

Dear All,

any idea how much a university/school of architecture might pay per hour for a part time position for a foreign architect with phd degree and 4 years teaching experience? teaching in english language. (many institutions now, becasue of Erasmus, are encourging lectures in their departments in english language).

Tx.

...any one to answer?

Real Estate / Cost of a flat refurbishment per sqm in Poland [18]

Dear colleagues,

what is the average cost per square meter for refurbishing an old appartment dating back to the 60s? the appartment is the social housing blocks in ursynow, and needs new flooring parquet, new windows, new kitchen and new toilet, in addition to some painting works.

Is there anybody there who had this refurbishing experience? any idea of cost?

Tx.

Work / INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS: NEW RESIDENT BUT I DON T WORK IN POLAND [5]

DEAR ALL,

NICE TO KNOW ABOUT THIS FORUM, I AM NEW COMER, A COLLEAGUE TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND IMMEDIATELY I LOGED IN TO REGISTER.

I HAVE COUPLE OF QUESTIONS REGARDING BUSINESS: I AM WORKING ON COUPLE OF INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS (MOSTLY TENDER AND COMPETITIONS) FOR SOME INVESTORS ABROAD. NOW, AFTER MOVING TO POLAND FROM JAPAN (I LIVED THERE FOR TEN YEARS) AND RECEIVING THE KARTA POBYTU SINCE NOV 2011 (MARRIED TO POLISH), I AM LIVING HERE, BUT NOT EMPLOYED YET OR NOT REGISTERED AS SELF EMPLOYED NEITHER.

RECENTLY I RENTED ANOTHER SMALL FLAT AS HOME AND I AM USING IT AS SMALL STUDIO TO SEPERATE LIFE FROM WORK, BUT I DON T HAVE ANY COMPANY OR ONE PERSON COMPANY REGISTRATION YET.

MY WORKS IS PURE INVESTMENT AS I DON'T GENERATE INCOME UNLESS I SELL THE DESIGN I DO: THIS MEANS THAT I CHECK COMPETITIONS ONLINE, WORK, DESIGN, PAY TO OUTSOURCE WORK - WHEN NEEDED, BUT SOMETIMES I DON 'T GET INCOME FOR THAT, AS MY WORK IS PART OF COMPETITIONS WITH OTHER DESIGNERS FOR SAME INVESTORS. I DON T HAVE CLIENTS YET HERE IN POLAND, SO MY WORK IS NOT THE TYPE OF GETTING COMISSIONS, SIGNING CONTRACTS, THEN WORKING AND GETTING PAID....I GUESS I WILL NEED TIME FOR THAT.

YOU MIGHT ASK ME : HOW I WILL SURVIVE IF I JUST PAY TO DEVELOP WORK FOR COMPETITIONS BUT I DON T GET PAID? WELL, IT IS NOT EASY, BUT I GIVE MYSELF ALWAYS A YEAR OF GAP MAXIMUM, AND IF I DON T GET ANYTHING SOLD/WON, THEN I JUST GET A JOB PART TIME TO SUSTAIN, IN ANY FIELD (DONE THAT B4). IN ADDITION, I SAVED SOME MONEY IN THE LAST 5 YEARS AND I AM ABLE TO DO SOME PERSONAL INVESTMENTS WITHOUT BEING PAID, HOPING TO GROW MY WORK.

MY QUESTION: THIS KIND OF WORK/COMPETITIONS THAT I AM DOING AT MY STUDIO HAS TO BE REGISTERED? DO I HAVE TO PAY ANY TAX IF I DON T GET A COMISSION FROM THESE WORKS? AND IN CASE I BRING SOMEONE TO ASSIST ME AS PART TIMER AND I PAY HIM POCKET MONEY FROM MY SAVINGS, WILL THAT BE OK? WILL I BE QUESTIONED FOR ANYTHING?

I READ AB ONE PERSON COMPANY, BUT I AM HESITANT TO DO THAT NOW AS I DON T HAVE YET CONCRETE COMISSIONS; BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I DON'T WANT TO BE AN OFFSIDER AND DO THINGS NOT LEGALLY.

I GUESS THERE ARE MANY CASES LIKE MINE, AND I HOPE TO READ YOUR FEEDBACK GUYS AND GIRLS,

TX A LOT FOR ANY FEED.
