Genealogy / Szcziglak - Siglock Help [17]

My grandmothers name was Veronika Imielska or Imelska or some derivative, not Anna.
I'm hoping that my mom will be able to find her baptismal records as that will help.
As for the record I found for Wincenty, I agree that it's incorrect and is probably not my grandfather
due to the dates.
The records that I found from the Ellis Island site indicate that Veronika was Polish but came from Russia.

Genealogy / Szcziglak - Siglock Help [17]

Helen Szcziglak
Birth Date: 28 Apr 1919
I have an aunt with this name and her brother was Walter.
Wish I could read Polish to help with that map, lol. My mother did say that she
thought both her parents came from suburbs outside Warsaw.
I have an old version of family tree maker around here somewhere but I doubt it will
work on this pc.

Genealogy / Szcziglak - Siglock Help [17]

Hi P
I appreciate all your help. I don't have ancenstry. I do know that the immigration list them as Polish but last residence was in Russia as at that time it was under Russian rule according to my mom and their was a split. She also told me that Wincenty was the Polish equivalent of Vincent which was his name. I'll be the first to admit that I'm wrong as I've just started trying to find some of her relatives and I'm a definite novice at it. My mom guessed and said that she thought it was 1907 when they arrived. She's looking for her mother's baptismal record that she has.

Someone told me that in Polish the letter "i" never follows "cz" but for all my life and my mothers the last name was spelled Szcziglak but angelicized to Siglock.

Also Czcslow Szcziglak could be Chester who my mother said died in infancy.
My Grandmother Anna Imielska? also had a sister Mary who came with her at the same time who settled in Martins Ferry, OH.
Her first husband was a Zelinski (sp?) and the family had or still has a restaurant in Wintersville, OH.and her second husband was a Zabowski (sp?)

Genealogy / Szcziglak - Siglock Help [17]

My mothers parents came to Ellis Island in 1907 I believe. Both were from suburbs outside Warsaw.
His name was Vincent Szcziglak (or derivative as I can't find anything on that last name)
Her mothers name was Ann Imelska (or derivative as I can't find anything on that last name either)
Her mothers sister also came at that time and her name was Mary. Her first husband was Zelinski and her second
husband was Zabowski?
My mothers fathers nephew was Joseph Szcziglak.
Alberta Muraski's father was my mother's fathers nephew. Alberta's maiden name was Szwejk.
Any help would be appreciated
