Polonia / What about the Poles living in Germany? [65]

without good knowledge of German language it will be very difficult to find a good job. I would try with some international companies based in Berlin.

Germans are very strict about work experience, letters of recommendation, certificates, etc..They never look at a CV without those well organized and neatly listed. It doesn't matter if you are very good at what you are/were doing- it HAS TO look good on the paper.

Law / Germany and Austria to fully open their labor market to Poles in 2011. Economic growth? [49]

don't think they will take Turks again...I live in west part of Germany and hostility towards Turks is enormous.
Word "Türke" (Turk in German) is equivalent to a swearword.

besides, with this ridicoulousy low wages they offering for qualified workers nobody will be eager to come here...Plus the employment requirements are (among others) fluency in German and preferably in English too. Not very tempting in my opinion....German job market is neither flexible nor international.

Polonia / What are social and cultural occupations of Poles in Germany ? [30]

"Priest"- what a rubbish!!

shame to say, Polish people are not much socializing with their co-patriots in Germany (my experience). If you are in "cleaning" or "building" business you might meet some people though. However, if you married to a foreigner (German or other) and have an university degree and good job you can forget it- envy, jalousy and other unpleasant behaviour will destroy any potential friendship with Polish expats.

Am Polish citizen and lived already across the world but I've never met any nationals who will so little organize meetings, national fests, etc. like Polish people. And that is a big shame!
