Genealogy / The surname Biegarczyk [3]

Thank you for your reply. I think I have been spelling it wrong as I tried again in Google and I did have some items come up (although not as many as you state - less than 50). I have tried on Polish genealogical sites but have not had any luck with finding anyone else with the same name. We were unsure whether my gran changed things about her life as we couldn't trace her or her family in the town she said she came from, so we didn't know if she made up the name as well. We will keep going and hopefully one day we can find some more information about her life in Poland.

Thank you again as at least we know it is a valid Polish name.

Genealogy / The surname Biegarczyk [3]

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of the surname Biegarczyk? This was my gran's maiden name but I have not found it recorded anywhere except the Holocaust museum based in Washington. My gran was captured during the war and placed in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp and they have some information held about her, but this is the only trace I have found of this surname. I have entered the name in Google and nothing comes up either. Any help would be gratefully received.

Genealogy / Does anyone have any relatives who served with 1st Polish Armoured Division (Gen. Maczek) [310]

Does anybody know of Kazimierz Ekner who served with 1st Polish Armoured Division? He is my grandad and he married my gran, Stefania Biegarczyk in Meppen in 1947 and came to live in England where he was part of the Polish Resettlement Corp. My dad and his brother know virtually nothing about their family so any slight bit of information is very grateful.
