Life / Poznan or Wroclaw - which city is more foreigner-friendly? [18]

Many international companies are located here.

Same we could say about Wroclaw. HP, LG, Volvo, Google, KPMG, Bosch, Siemens etc.

Seriously frozendessert, I think Wroclaw and Poznan are on the same level. But Wroclaw for me has a more cosmopolitical sound, as it was in the hands of very different countries throughout history.

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

When was it made? Maybe in the 90s. Definitely all the wars of 2000s and Barrack Obama. Right now I'm pretty sure it would be the other side.

For me personally Georgia is the favorite nation.

USA can't expect to have high popularity in Poland if it betrays it to Russia on a very, very special day - 18th of September. This is an unofficial national day of betrayal - back stab entrance of USSR forces in Poland in 1939.

Not to mention that Obama didn't care to come to Kaczynski's funeral, while Saakashvili was also in Washington at this time, took great effort and came to Kraków with his family. In this time Obama was saying 'we all are Poles. Poland - you are an ally' and went to play golf (really, golf). Sorry, but for most of us only deeds speak the truth.

Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [70]

I was expecting more knowledge of Polish vodkas from an Eastern European.

I was expecting more knowledge of junk food from an inhabitant of the American continent. Get my point? Bulgaria is Bulgaria. Hungary is Hungary. Poland is Poland. "Eastern Europe" is too much of a simplification for the mentally disabled.

In Bulgaria they don't make or drink wódka. It's a wine region. Why should they be experts on wódka?

History / 1587-1588 Poland's War with Austria [22]

Not in XIV-XV century, at this time patriotism and obedience were still strong enough that the vast majority of magnates served the country.

Well, we're talking about a conflict which took place in 1587-1588.

Life / koty dwa lullaby [9]

...
Here's the tune :-) The text is a little different from yours. And it's for sure 'kotki', not 'koty'.

History / 1587-1588 Poland's War with Austria [22]

Polish magnates had a lot of power. Today we call this legal system 'noble democracy' for a reason. The magnates employed their own armies. Holding one or more winged hussar regiments was like having a brand new Carrera GT nowadays - lots of prestige among nobility. Because those guys were really, really expensive.

It also kinda sucked because if the government wanted to imply some new law and a magnate didn't like it, he could just say 'I don't care. I have my army. Come and tell me to obey'. Things were pretty much about interests of the magnates.

The war with Austria was caused by the fact that a part of nobility wanted to elect the Austrian archduke wearing gay clothes, and the other part wanted the prince of Siedmiogród (Hungarian Transylvania), Batory - a very big guy who could lay down a horse to the ground. Archduke was elected, but Zamoyski was unhappy with the decision. He went to engage Austrians and put Batory in the throne.

And in overall, Batory was a very good king.

Love / What do Polish Guys Like Women to Wear? [64]

I have been to Poland a lot and dont worry, the women are fat, ugly and have no dress sense like every other country..

Are you jealous or something? They are perfectly fine.

ON TOPIC:
For me, every woman in a skirt, not nessesarily very short, is much ahead than the one in trousers. It's just feminine.

Travel / Why do people say that Poland is so unsafe? [60]

I wouldn't say Poland is unsafe. I live in Wroclaw and 1 and half a year ago I moved into a district considered 'dangerous' by the people. Not much happened since then, neither to my friends living here since childhood. I can walk around at night everywhere and not feel unsafe. Sometimes in the streets I meet some people asking for money for some beers. But I just say 'no' or not pay them any attention and it's fine. Another dangerously looking element in my district are the gypsies. But in reality if you don't do anything against them, you're square and well.

That's all that comes to my mind if it comes to danger. Living here for almost 19 years I was never robbed or something like it. A big percent of the population are the students of all the universities and academies, so the atmosphere is pretty much laid back and good for having fun.
