News / Russian air traffic controllers ignored communication protocol of Polish pilots? [194]

A lot of these people devoted a chunk of their lives to NOT forgiv

I believe that majority of Poles have forgiven. They were certainly able to forgive the Germans. I am certainly unaware of any calls for bloody reprisals originating from Poland. Have many people chose not to forget? I'd hope they will cultivate memory of not only the victims of Katyn, but also other places where their countrymen were murdered. There is nothing uniquely Polish about their desire to remember the victims. You have to remember that there are many, many Katyns out there. The point at which history repeats itself usually begins with marginalizing the victims. So, in this respect, it truly isn't about living in the past at all.

Off-Topic / Polish head of state plane crashed in middle of nowhere? [56]

It's a shame you see it necessary to pretend that you're not.
Speaking about morals...

I don't have to pretend. I signed my posts with my name. You still remain a "Havok" But, I am quiet certain you are not Russian, because no Russian would ever, under any circumstances spew the venom like you, under the present circumstances. That I am certain of.

Again, I wish you the best in your quest to ... Sadly, I think you are are the only one who knows what this quest is ...

Best Wishes,

Robert

You're also very rude so kudos for acting like a true Polak! :)

I am not going to edify your venomous comments. They speak for themselves, and there are enough intelligent people on this board (excluding yourself, of course) who can clearly see through your "inspired" posts.

I'll leave you with a very simple thought. A brother lost his brother, a daughter lost her father, there were moms, fathers, daughters, and friends of many people on that plane. This is also a personal tragedy for many, many people.

As to my linguistic abilities ... damn, you are right, I do speak fluent Russian, probably pretty close to fluent Polish, English (darn, I use it every day), and couple of other "exotic" languages ... which makes me think ... damn ... I am probably ... O what the heck, you are so bright ... so finish this last sentence for yourself ... I don't think I have to comment on what kind of person you are, because you said it so eloquently about yourself in this post. I wish you the best. The world mourns the victims, past and present, take a note of that. And you?

The pilot flies the aircraft, not ATC

Agree, but .., Russian is NOT and HAS NEVER BEEN sanctioned to be the language used in air-to-ground or ground-to-air communications anywhere in the world. Please correct me if I am wrong. I think this should be emphasized. Polish pilots were not required to speak Russian, however, I am quiet certain they spoke it fluently!
