Law / What is the most developed Science Technology in Poland? [11]

polish scientists developed efficient way to produce some chemical which is base for blue laser technology.

From my point of view: a blue laser.

Sorry. It was my misunderstandings. Yes, I found some topics about blue semiconductor laser which was made under high-pressure conditions.

Moreover, I have met prof. Porowski :-p

Of course, I think, Blue laser is very important invention, and it has a potential to make new scientific field.

From my point of view: a blue laser.

Do you mean Blue LED? Japanese company 日亜化学(Nichia) developed it and has patent. I do not think Poland has high technology for Blue LED.

Fake money printing...

Lol!! N. Korea is specialist for it!!:-) hahaha:-)

Read about this and other innovations here:

Ohh!! Thanks!

I was impressed in this one
The Institute of Mathematical Machines exhibited its IMMVein terminal for infrared identification of people by the pattern of the veins on their hands, which is unique for each individual.

I've never heard this identification system using vein. Interesting!

Information Technology I guess.

Yeah, it's well know. I heard the biggest computer science university in EU is in Poland (Silezja...? I forgot). Polish computer science will be more developed in future, won't it.

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

My mom sent pictures of my children to my aunt 4 weeks ago and she never got them.

Even registered letter (polecone). I have such situations a few times that very important letters from city office (urad) did not come to my house in Warsaw. It was 2 and 3 yeas ago. I disapointed polish postal manner.

Law / What is the most developed Science Technology in Poland? [11]

I would like to know Polish science technology which has been applied to industry or been products. Which specialised field of the technology is the most developed?

I think Polish Biotechnology is high grade and has been applied to improving species of creatures (animals). Do you know something else?

Law / Non-EU country citizen on tourist visa - could anyone help me with Karta Pobytu? [63]

HjFcMNB
I asked many officers as well as the lawyers about this.

I have had five times that process for appling for karta pobytu. I can imagine your situation because I'm already fed up with the stupid process. You see? This is reality of polish officers in city office. Each of them says something different.

Did you show a copy and your original credit card to the officer? (If you have)

The main problem is that you do not earn money here in Poland, isn't it? My foreign friend had the same situation but an officer accepted his financial condition when he showed copy of his credit card. But, it depends on officer. Please pay attention that all officers do not always accept the copied documents.

Anyhow, you do not have time to apply for karta pobytu.
If you have a certification of your money in your account, show it and try to show copied credit card within 7 days.

Unfortunately, I can only propose you to do so now...

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

But 'Ciechan', which contains only water, malt and hops, is unpateurised, and costs the same, has real character.

Yees, I know and I like it too:-) I think Ciechan is unfiltered beer (they are not filtered well after the fermentation process).

Hmm... it is hard to say which beer is No.1 because most of polish beers are tasty:-)

Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Absolutely Tyskie!

As we know well, there are many kinds of beer in Poland. I cannot explain what is difference amoung them and distinguish the taste, but Tyskie is suitable for me:-)

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

jonni

And the number of posts isn't a fair indicator. Somebody writes the three reasons they love Poland, and a couple of people reply to say, that indeed yes, they like the same things. Somebody posts the three reasons they hate Poland and people are arguing for days about it.

I wanted to show the difference of the number of posts. It didn't mean most of people hate poland.

Calm down, jonni :-)

News / What's the stupidest question asked about Poland? [414]

if you were to ask random polish people about Japan you wouldn't get many sensible answers either...

Ha ha. yees. I have had such experience:-) JP is far from Poland. Sometime, we cannot recognize the geographic location of countries correctly.

I wouldn't be surpsied if they said it lies on a Island beteen China and USA

It depends on whether we are interested in it :-). To tell the truth, I couldn't distinguish "Slovakia" and "Slovenia" before coming to Poland:-( I am ashamed that I was.

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

The number of "replies" on "3 reasons why you hate poland" is more than that of "Why do you love poland?" although the thread of "why do you love.." was built before "why you hate.." :-) It is almost double score:-)
