Language / Dzięki temu...... ? [8]

I'd say 'thanks to that' and not 'thanks for that'. Dzięki za coś is thanks for that.

Yeah, I agree with Seanus.

Oh, then I love it just as much as I love 'your' stereotype!
It looks great in written Russian, and I'm sure that it sounds even better in the spoken one :)

T'es d'où en France? I really don't know why I thought you were German.

Seb has the biggest stock of pics of beautiful PL girls - it's official!

Have to go to work, I was just supposed to check my daily horoscope :)
Beautiful weather today in K-ków, so have a great day everybody.

I always said that on the level of people
there is more mutual sympathy between Russians and Poles than both sides would
like to admit (and more similarities as well) :)

totally agree. The way I see it, is that Poland/Russia issues are much more on the political, rather than the people's level.

in Russia we've got a stereotype that Polish women are (the most) beautiful. It's not a bad stereotype though, is it? :)

I love this stereotype!!

I remember my father told me when I was a kid: "Польки - очень красивые женщины".

Don't understand Russian, unfortunately....

T'es Français Seb? I was going to ask anyway, as I was wondering...thougth you were German, don't know why...

And Torq is a very nice, Polish guy.

Hi Oxana, you are probably new to the forum and don't know, that most people posting on here are British, Irish, some Spanish, French, German, Dutch etc.

Very few members of PolishForums are Polish.

The guy who posted the naked women pictures - Exiled, aka southern - is Greek, and seriously out of his mind, so don't pay attention to him.

I didn't go through the whole history of the thread, but I think I'm the only Pole who answered to this thread. And the only thing I had said about Ukrainian women, is that I found Tymosheko a beautiful woman.

Hahaha Torq, not again????!!!!!! :)

UK, Ireland / Marrying Polish Woman in UK/London [100]

And he asked about marriage benefits which make it obvious he is thinking about his future status. A work visa is temporary.

But English is not his native language! Maybe he did not mean marriage benefits as such? You know, it's not always easy to say precisely what you mean in a foreign language.

Im also not sure why Nika thinks it will be so easy for his g/f to get a job in the UK..

I didn't say it would be easy for the girl to get a job in the UK. I said that maybe it would be difficult for her to get a job in India. Please read my posts carefully Amathyst.

He is required to register and be legal there.

He is legal in the UK: "I am authoriszd to work here in the UK & legally allowed to work/stay until 2012".

Oh why didn't I think of that? The UK should just let them stay because it's "easier" for them.

I didn't say the UK should let anybody do anything. Go back to your post, re-read it - I only answered to your question. I was only thinking of possible reasons why they would rather go to the UK, than to PL or India.

Anyway, the UK has nothing to let or not to let. If they want to, they will live there, if not they will go somewhere else.

I lived in Poland for over 10 years and one of the common social discussions I heard was about Polish girls marrying people from the middle east and then after going there realizing it wasn't a fairy tale. Then they had the battle of getting their kids back.

What are you talking about?????? I have been living in PL for 30 years and I have never heard such conversations.

Someone else mentioned if the OP was legitimate why don't they live in one of the countries they are from?

Maybe because it would be difficult for the guy to learn Polish and get a job in Poland? The same goes for the girl and learning Hindi and getting a job in India?

Haha Bev, there you go - welcome in the Club!

Thanks Nika for clarifying!
I am shocked & totally speechless with the negative responses & the hostile stance of some of the members

It was Torq who clarified and I only confirmed.
Well, don't worry incognito, we are very often shocked as well, they tend to be just as offensive towards Poles. But we do not remain speechless - we fight back, hence our PW Club :)

Torq I half count and don't want any special priviledges :)

Bev you count for 1 entire Polish living in Poland, doesn't she Torq?

I don't think the people who died for that logo would appreciate you co-opting it Nika.

no comments....

Cheers, Nika! We should start a Tiny Persecuted Polish Minority Club ;)

With pleasure Torq! I have an idea for logo of our Club.
PW wish you all the best incognito, if your intentions are sincere. It's probably better for you to seek an advice on the websites you've posted, rather than on here.

Of course you realise that no poster in this thread is actually Polish living in Poland?
(except for me :) I'm not sure about Varsovian too). You got replies from Brits, Irish,
Americans, Swedish but no Poles.

I confirm. You will have to show it to her British/Irish/American etc friends & colleagues, if she has any.

And I am a part of the tiny minority of posters, Polish living in Poland, that is :)

in the meantime.....GO CANADA GO / GOLD CANADA GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

Send Poles back to Hungary? *confused*

Maybe he means that unemployment in Hungary is very low, and we should try our luck there?
I think we should consider giving it a try.....tam nas jeszcze en masse nie widzieli.... :)

Timoshenko looks alright but she could change her hairstyle from time to time

It's a Ukranian, traditional hair-style. It's more than just a hair-style, it represents the commitment to her ethincal background, which is why she doesn't change it. I think it makes her look very cute!

Be careful to not get busted by your gf, while posting the pictures of all the pretty girls ;)

And I don't like the Doda style either, too kitsch & too much pink for me!

UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

I reckon Poland will be the new destination and Polish women seem to like a touch of the tar brush :D

Amathyst please stop acting like you English women don't mix, because it's not true. I'm sure there is much more English married to Indians, Pakis etc than Polish.

As for Polish opinion about drunken idiots in Krakow, Im not too concerend...Im sure the money they spend sooths the pain slightly.

Congratulations for your "I pay 1£ for my beer, so have the right to pis* up your churches and show my naked a** in Rynek, where you people go for a walk with you children and grand-parents" thinking.

Doesn't surprise me coming from a Western European though...you ppl don't respect anything, except for money.

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

...oh and look at what other threads Miss Natalie E has been replying to...

Do you think that Polish people are rude?
Are Polish girls "gold diggers"?

I know, I've checked her profile as well. Poor girl, she must have been through a lot of problems with them horrid Polish women...

So you think tourism means going to an ancient city full of churches - a place considered sacred by Poles - and getting pissed with yer mates, mocking locals because they can't speak English, pulling your trousers down and mooning nuns, urinating up a 1000 year old church, acting like animals with zero repect for your surroundings and host culture - because you think you are better - you have the right to do this - because you are British.

That's probably why the British are now only 2nd most liked nation by Poles, as per Maaarysia's post :)
