I have found the opposite to be honest. I have solid wooden floors back home in Ireland in living room and dining room and they are destroyed from scratches and chips from stones on peoples shoes etc (the no shoes in the house cutom hasnt caught on in Ireland yet hehe) I have a good walnut style laminate everywhere else and the floors are perfect, even in the hallway etc where there is a lot of 'trraffic'. I guess the old style wooden floorboards might have better wear and tear than the new ones because they dont have a veneer. The parquet style one is what my gfs parents have all over the house, looks as good now as it probably did 20 yrs ago, we dont have those in Ireland :( All in all from a personal perspective I dont think solid or semi solid wooden floors are worth the money, the laminate is cheaper, looks the same and in my experience wears better. This thread is about three reasons why I hate Poland so I better write I HATE POLAND BECAUSE THERE ARENT ENOUGH WOODEN FLOORS, LAMINATE FLOORS, AND THEY STILL SELL CARPET IN LEROY MERLINS :D Now that should keep them happy

Absolutely, I certainly hope I never go into a hospital with carpet everywhere, can you imagine all the vomit and congulated blood stuck to it .... Yuck !


Yeah all my Polish buddies have either wooden or laminate, laminate are probably better because they dont scratch or chip as much

Personally I would have thought the opposite. I had carpets for years back home in Ireland and all they did was catch dust and dirt, now I have wooden floors everywhere . . . clean, easy to clean, look great. Wooden floors are more popular than carpet everywhere in Europe, not just in Poland. They are just more practical

My gfs dad tols me that lamb isnt so popular in Poland now because it was once the food of peasants, so I guess thats still the mentality. Strange for me because in Ireland lamb and beef would be everybodys preference. Having said that I love my simple Irish lamb stew, but bigos is a close second...love it !!! Especially how my gfs mother cooks it, she told me it gets better each day its left in the pot and I have to say thats true . . . delicious !

Ive a big nose and Im Irish, its so big you could hang a wet duffle coat from it, it never held me back in life. Women subconsciously equate big noses with big willys so its great
