The US using the large tech advertising/surveillance companies to further its agenda is an open goal . Europe allows these corrupting companies free access to our markets which is why the US screams about protections. When you have a country whose raison d'être is exploitation you have a rogue state.

The actions of Europe say otherwise, the pathetic "deal" that right wing nut job Von der Leyen did with the US was a surrender, the UK is bending over backwards to appease Trump not even defending the Mayor of London.

Europe still doesn't realise that All changed, changed utterly with Trump 2. There is no battening down the hatches til he has gone. Europe needs to grow a set and tell the US to leave. Not to blow my own trumpet but France like me has been calling for an independent Europe for a long time, they have an independent atomic chain which we can build on. Europe has all the tools needed for economic and military independence but we allow the US free access to our markets thus shooting ourselves in the foot. What the US offers is surveillance capitalism and little else.

What's the point of having the World Cup in the US, a backward hole that only worships money. The cheapest tickets for the final are $4,185 that's zł15036.64 which is crazy. The extortionate price is bad enough then we have to factor in the capricious nature of the ochre one. The US forced Blatter out now you have the ridiculous and shameful scene of Gianni Infantino sucking Trump.

I realise that having the World Cup can help civilise a nation but some places are beyond saving and it's the ordinary fans who in this case literally pay the price

A huge arc of countries invaded, bombed and destabilised by NATO countries. The stand out places are Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and so on. The not so obvious victims currently include Armenian and Venezuelan civilians and more traditionally huge swaths of Africa. The US led destruction of a rules based order has been policy for a very long time.

I disagree, the first thing Putin did was reign in the Oligarch's political ambitions. He allowed them to accrue huge amount of wealth but did stop foreign plundering. I am no fan of Putin or oligarchs but Yeltsin somehow managed to recognised,through his vodka soaked state that the shock treatment was just foreign vultures gorging themselves on Russian assets.
