Genealogy / Information on family name, Krzycki [23]

Hi,
My name is Michal Krzycki, I don't know much about my roots, but I am almost sure that the origin of our surname is very old and has a lot of common with nobilities which have been mixed with villagers. The family has spread all over the Poland and not only, so our roots have been forgotten.

Every Krzycki or Krzycka has a common source which is an Western part of Poland, near Germany. Find on the map Krzycki Rów (I think it can be translated on Krzycki's Ditch or something like that).

I have never cared about my roots but one day a Polish from Germany wrote me a long e-mail about his roots and he is very proud of these. I know he is trying to create a website with a big autentical family tree. I read that our family had a bigger influence on the result of the war, but I don't remember which war (bigger than the royal family).

Only thing I remember is that my nearest family from the last centuries lived in Eastern part of Poland near Ostrołęka.
