they reproduce

lets build a wall and put them behind it

Think of the inbreeding possibilities. They`ll end up like the kooky royal families of centuries past.

The Polish pronounce it lub (loob), why can't we for a change?

That`s true, it would be loob in Polish...
We can`t because we don`t have symbols, so we indicate with vowels

oREgano or oreGAno? oREgano? U c, wrong again!! ;)

Whats the diff between 1 and 3? Looking at stress points in words is painful for me. I dont even pay attention to what I stress and what I dont (the horrible confession of an English Major)

.......thats why you love us :):)

Only sometimes :)

lol, you got the joke then, especially if you've experienced it in your family yourself :)

only about a million times :) It doesn`t bother me in the least.

really, lol, so there is no token blonde on his arm :):):)

She is no token blonde that`s for sure.

well its better for us guys to think of lube than lub, i hiope you understand that :)

I dont think I`ll ever understand what men think sometimes lol!

I know that it's commonly lube, but lub could be short for lubricant. It's logical, no?

Logical in any other language but English :) .The pronunciation of the u changes with that itty bitty e :) :)

hay thats nice to hear, but if you've both naturally got different coloured hair, then who is the daughter of the milkman, lol, thats the saying in the UK, its a joke of course :)

lol! We get that a lot. Most of my father`s side of the family is blond or orange and both my brother and sister were born with extremely blond hair. Then I came along with the dark hair and my mom got teased a lot by the family that she must have been doing it with the mail man. Of course, that joke was over when a cousin was born on my father`s side of the family and we looked almost identical (...except that he`s a guy).

hahaha, manly man but looks like a pretty boy you mean, i have a friend who is exactly like your brother, thinks he's a real man but looks like he should be fronting a boy band

I actually said that to him the other day, that he should start a boyband lol! He was soooooo offended :) Whats even funnier is that his gf is such a tomboy :) :)

'We lub each other' wrote Mali above. Lub as in lubricant? Saucy missus, saucy ;)

lol! Seanus, you`re thinking of lube. The e at the end of it makes all the difference in the world :)

I would NEVER mess with an angry redhead. She gave me a black eye once when I was 15. Other than that, we're both extremely close. We lub each other :)

My sister is naturally strawberry blond (orange if you ask me) and I'm a natural brunette. We've never looked alike, which could be why we get along so well because we don't feel competitive with one another.

About the 'pretty' in the family, the funny thing is that my brother is the one that constantly gets approached for modeling lol! Its hilarious because he thinks he's such a manly man so he finds it insulting :). I love teasing him about being the next Zoolander.

Food / Types of CHEESE in Poland [150]

I'm not saying I don't like Polish cheese - I just couldn't find any good stuff.

Because its not that good :)

Maybe he wasn't referring to Polish cheese Mali. Sorry, I don't wanna be pedantic

I know. He was referring to cheese in Poland and I interpreted it the way I wanted to read it :). The horrible truth.

Polish cheese is very good

homo ser is good....but its more of a yogurt type thing than a cheese.

I'm with the Ass on this one.
I'm not crazy about cheese in Poland (or Polish cheese). I used to love królewski but I'm so sick of it. bleh.

So basically, the Omnibus Edition will be two lines long...
Maybe you should include fashion in this restricted edition.

love to know so a when I come for a visit, I'don't look out of place

I don`t know what the preferred colour is but bright colours are generally popular in Poland. People like to look happy and bright. Whenever I`m there for a visit I always see women in yellows, reds, blues, greens etc.. (not all at once, mind you..)

Life / Polish people and racism. [943]

For a nation that has been through so much throughout history, you would have thought that, white supremacy, racism against skin colour and religious groups etc etc would not be something to be worried about in Poland. However it seems there is a sleeping beast within Poland.

No one is going to deny that there are racist bigots in Poland. An aura of xenophobia was created with the onslaught of communism after WWII. There is no excuse for racism in Poland these days and people are actually looking into it and trying to fix things. Prior to its occupation Poland was seen as one of the most tolerant nations in Europe (unlike the pilfering Britain that you like to believe to be an icon of tolerance).

Karl, for someone that is critical of such a deep issue in a nation that they`ve never been to, you`re starting to sound like an ignorant hypocrite. Get off your high horse and look into the racism that is occurring in your own nation.

"There's two types of racism in this country - the racism that discriminates and the racism that kills, which is compounded by poverty."

The recent stabbing by teenage gang members of a 10-year-old Nigerian boy, who was then left by passers-by to die in an open stairwell of a rundown London housing project, has led police to look into antagonisms between the Nigerian and Caribbean communities.

Barack Obama is well in the running for the presidency of the United States of America. He is the first non-white American to have a strong chance of holding the highest office in the USA. But had his Kenyan father chosen Britain rather than the UK for his studies his son, his grandchildren and their grandchildren would have been excluded from the office of head of state. For in this country the constitution requires that that position be filled only by northern European Protestants. No Blacks, no Jews and, indeed, no Irish need apply. The British allow one family, the dysfunctional, high-living white Windsors, the exclusive right to represent them.

Yup. That sounds about right. Is it too late to take her immigration ring away?
When you find a new bride to replace the racist, thieving Polish one, make sure to keep her away from the telephone and any form of communication.

polish people are dumb

Hopefully, this will work to your advantage, Apple Pie. Good luck.

Yes. If its a bigger car, then she might be smuggling more thieving Polaks into the country. If, and I do mean IF, you get your car back, make sure to check it for signs of illegal immigrants. Especially Polish ones that will abuse your health care system.

You better hunt her down because if she`s `typical`, you`re in trouble!

Life / Polish people and racism. [943]

It surely does. Still, I hate when people assume I'm a catholic, a thief and an alcoholic just when they hear I'm Polish.

thief -I`ve never heard that stereotype before.
alcoholic - I`ve heard this in a joking manner. Most people I know don`t consider the average Polish person an alcoholic.
Catholic - yeah.

we are a nation of complainers, it's in our DNA.

No. You will find loads of complainers in every democratic nation. When people aren`t complaining, it usually isn`t because they`re happy with their nation but because they feel oppressed. Complacency isn`t exactly a good thing.

as an educator

I`m not mocking your writing style but please be reader friendly and try to separate your block into readable parts. Your block made my eyes blurry. Thanks.

i do not steal, i have a very high academic degree

i hate vodka

i am not racist

Me neither. I am a Polka (though I won`t identify with `typical` because I hate that word).
I guess you`re not that special :(

i am not racist (how can i be? i married a successful businessman who happens to be an african american)

Well, there are more ways than one to be a racist. Just because you are in an interracial marriage doesn`t automatically disqualify you from being racist if you believe in stereotypes for other races (Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian, etc..). I`m not saying that you do, but you need to get off your high horse because being married to an AA doesn`t mean that you`re not racist. In fact, by identifying him as `the other` you are adhering to racist mentalities.

i've read quite a few entries and unfortunately i have to agree with some of them. being polish myself i feel kind of uneasy about admitting that we are racist

We are not racists. Ignorant individuals are.
Poland is far from perfect and I will not deny that there is racism in Poland (especially against the Roma) but they are trying to work on it. Like you said, Poland is basically one race of people. It is not easy to get around that mentality but steps have been taken.

It wouldn't be authentic coverage of an election without reporting ALL the scandals. People need to know about your affairs in order to figure out if you are worthy to represent them or not.

Some background first. Doggie G started the race with an apparently innocent request to find out whether he was still loved here on PF. Yes we know he phrased it in an abstract way but we all know it was a cry from the heart

ROFL!! I knew Greg was feeling unloved! Poor thing...*hugs*

We interviewed noimmigration as he left the polling booth earlier but could not understand a word of what he said.

Shocking!

ETA: Awesome coverage!
(but you forgot about the scandals...and DONKEY!)

Polonia / Polish Zloty Can't Exchange in France!.. [24]

Versaille, South of France, Champagne, etc.

what I don't like about France-> most of the food. I like the cheese and wine but I'm not a big fan of fish, snails, frogs, boeuf, duck, and all the other different types of meats that the French eat at every meal. I hate red meat, so dinners in France are gross to me :(

Should the issue of Winter boots in Summer seem so strange?

yes! Winters are freezing cold and summers are humid and hot. In the summer, we get 28-36 Celsius all the time. Try wearing furry boot then lol.

I've been to London once in the summer and the weather was so inconsistent. One minute I was wearing a sweater, then I had to take it off because it was too warm, then the clouds came again and I was cold. Mother Nature sure is fickle over there in England :)

My cheapo ones don't do that at all

I love that the knock-offs are better than the $200 pair :)

Really? Surely your feet would sweat in them? Mines have furry linings so they would be to hot for sure :)

yeah, can you imagine how nasty they must smell?

Whats with the belts you Polish Princesses wear? EVERY Polish girl i met over here love huge studded belts? They look nice dont get me wrong, but i just found it quite funny

maybe its the trend in Poland. I haven't seen that too much around here, from the Polish Princesses or otherwise.

Nice snake-shoe pic in your profile by the way.

Thanks :) (they're faux snake, btw)
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic but I choose to read it as a compliment :)

I don't like pointy toe shoes either. I have one pair, which look nice with jeans and a top in the summer but I can't wear them if I have to walk any distance because they get hurt. And yeah, the pointy bit makes me think of a witch :)

yay! I'm not alone! My sister LOVES them. I will never know why.

I see girls with them on and they're basically walking over the side and back of them

LOL!! I see that all the time. Apparently, that happens because the skin stretches so much that they end up losing some of their shape. It looks sloppy.

I bought a cheaper version (infact 2 pairs) over the winter and they great and sturdy (but still managed to fall on the ice

I see people wearing them in the summer all the time. a summer dress, bug-eye sunglasses and Uggs :S

What is it with this pointy shoes craze?

I am probably one of the few females that hates pointy toe shoes. They are f'ugly to me. They look like witch shoes.

And trousers with dresses, be they baby-doll dresses (i.e. those stupid moomoo things) or actual dresses is just plain ugly and unattractive. No woman should ever experiment with that look, ever!

yeah, I'm not a fan of unflattering layers either. Nothing good can come from wearing a dress over pants.

What do PFers think about Uggs?
