Yet it seems like you read Russian forums, blogs dedicated to Poland. Would be great if you could share your perspectives on what you pick up from there.

Um... What exactly do you have in mind? ;) Because on the internet you pick up a lot of stuff, both good and bad. One could write a book about it, I guess ;) In short, I got to know Russians better, I think (in fact, before I didn't know them at all :)), or, at least, some of them. And Poles. And myself :)

And I've noticed that we all just want to get along, but somehow it's not that easy ;)

However, lately I can see a light on the horizon :) Some hope. A wind of change coming from the Russian authorities, especially president Medvedev. Or at least it looks like it ;)

And on the 9th of May I'm going to kindle a light of my own at the Soviet cemetery in my city :)

French, Italian, British not coming...

They weren't present also at the funeral of president Kaczyński and his wife. President Medvedev came and Poles appreciated this. And so Komorowski will be present at the parade in Moscow.

I sense that Poland is being lulled into a false sense of security and partnership. I'd like to feel otherwise but sth is up.

Well, I think Poles know well enough that with Russia we have to have our eyes on the back of our heads ;) But it won't hurt to try and make our relations with Russia better, I think.

Yup. Those Russians I came across on the internet were very patriotic about Russia. The only Russian thing they attacked was liberal opposition and liberal media.

Just seen how fun for such guys was the news about explosion in a coal mine...

I'm sure there are such people on the internet.
But I personally have different experiences. I discussed mainly with Russians from Russia. Also with some living in Ukraine and Poland. There is a Polish-Russian LJ community I visit and there are only Russians there. I also know a Russian forum where there are Polish articles, blogs and forums being translated on a daily basis (if I'm not mistaken Borrka is well known over there thanks to those translations). You can imagine what's going on in there :)))

But I think those people are a "specific" crowd. Or, at least, I hope so ;)

Yes, Inosmi :) But most of the "fans" of Poles and Poland moved to "Inoforum" ;) And then to another forum.

It's like surveying prisoners to get an idea on what the life on the freeside is.

But I must admit sometimes I wonder whether some of their views are marginal or predominant in Russian society. It's because I meet mainly such Russians. It seems that Polish themes somehow attract this sort of folk. I guess they feel a need to fight against the enemies of Russia, even on the internet ;)

You know, some of them are nice. And those Russians write they don't hate Poles. But their views give me creeps o_O

I bet you, Paulina, ran onto the same ilk of Polish guys over there...

Yes, but on the Polish internet. Poles rarely visited Inosmi and then Inoforum. They usually don't know these forums exist (which is good, I think ;)). And they don't know Russian language well enough to read or to write there.

Unfortunately I missed the parade in Moscow (it was to early for me for a Sunday morning ;)). But later I went to the Soviet cemetery in my city to light a candle and put a flower :)

Meaningful experience.
I think my friends at work would say the same. One has one and the same boyfriend all the time. The other isn't meating anyone, she thinks men are chauvinistic ;) and her hero is her aunt who raised her son by herself and proved that living without a man is possible ;) This coworker of mine is a tall, attractive blond with blue eyes :)

Well, this is how it works in nature - a male is supposed to impregnate as many females as possible so his genes would survive. That's his role. And females are supposed to take care of the offspring. And so they need only one partner to help them.

This is what I meant. Men are poligamic by nature. Women - monogamic.
Those are basic instincts. Some can fight it, some can't.

I think in Kielce there are enough normal Polish men, so I don't think crazy and primitive "king polkakamon" will have much success :) Well, maybe with some not very demanding girls, you can always try, at least (if you're handsome and won't speak too much so they wouldn't know what kind of man you are LOL) :)
