Law / Poland - Temporary Residence card - Karta pobytu - required documents [146]

Hi,
I've been through this process myself and helped others - here's a quick breakdown for you:

Requirements depend on your reason for stay. If you're coming to study in Poland, you'll need:

a confirmation from the Polish university,

proof of accommodation and health insurance,

and a bank statement showing you can support yourself.

Embassy appointments won't help - TRC (karta pobytu) is issued only in Poland, not through embassies. You must enter Poland legally and apply at a local Voivodeship Office (urząd wojewódzki).

Taxes only apply if you work here. If you don't work - you don't pay. If you do, it depends on your job type (like a zlecenie contract, etc.).

Processing time varies a lot - in some regions it's 2 months, in others 6+. It really depends on the queue and how complete your documents are.

We've put together a detailed guide (step by step), including what to expect and how to prepare:

Let me know if anything's unclear. Happy to help - it's easier when we share info.
Good luck!
