History / Is there a list of those in the Polish Army during WWII? [193]

My Grandfather was Stefan Zuraw, who served in the 1st Armoured Division. I don't have much to go on, apart from some old photos of his training in Scotland and some stories of evading capture escaping from Poland at the start of the war and a few mentions of Sherman tanks. He was born in 1914 in Melanów and baptised nearby in Łaskarzew , and died at the age of 86 in London.

Would love to find out more about his military records, but also more about his background.

Genealogy / Does anyone have any relatives who served with 1st Polish Armoured Division (Gen. Maczek) [311]

My grandfather, Stefan Zuraw served as Lance Sergeant (Plutonowy) in the 24th Lancers, 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade, 1st Polish Armoured Division.

I have his battledress complete with ribbons (below), collar pennons and crest
·Cross of Merit
·1939-1945 Star
·France and Germany Star
·???
·War Medal 1938-1945
·??? Italy Star???
·???

I would like to find any photos or anyone who served with him (posthumously of course).

Thanks,

Nic Zuraw
