Life / I woke up in Poland's Hilton of Drunks after the Juvenalia party. Must I pay the 300zl fine? [49]

I don't think they will pursue you abroad if you don't pay it. My friend had lots of traffic-parking tickets and public transport fines when he was in Poland two years ago, he never paid and they never chased him for that in his own country. But, the situation is different if you intend to stay longer or live in Polska, as you will most probably receive a court order with late payment interests, after a few months. Btw., where are you from?

Sobieski:I give you a hint...If that friend of yours would have been a normal human being, he would have parked and paid, he would have bought public transport tickets..

Same as Poles that came to my country, behave like primitive people, drives like crazy (but its part of their culture, not mine), park anywhere were forbidden, don't pay for bus and parking, return to Poland and throw their tickets right away to the trash.

Life / Lost my Polish driving license. Can I get one from abroad? [5]

Yes, Poland is a very bureaucratic/paperwork country, and they usually mostly impose you to queue personally in the administration office with a valid ID and all required papers before you can get anything.

I know it's very annoying when you are used to arrange most of things concerning the bureaucracy by email, post or phone; but it's, unfortunately, that way.

Life / Public Masturbation now allowed in Sweden, Would this work in Poland? [43]

What should be taken into consideration:
Allowing Public masturbation in a country were prostitution is forbidden (and were the client is being punished) vs. forbidden public masturbation in a country were prostitution is legal and they are lots of sex workers.

Note: - You can't park your car in a big Polish city without being submerged by brothels and escort agencies advertisements.
- You find local prostitutes on main roads in Poland, they are known as "tirowki" (girls for TIR drivers).
- They are many websites specialized on promotion of sex workers on the Polish internet.
- Many brothels, escort agencies, public prostitution places, private "lady" locals in Polish cities.

All of these are considered "weird", and are illegal in Sweden.

For the "Catholic" moral point of view, I've always been skeptical - How do Polish consider that?

Law / Weapons laws in Poland. Carrying a concealed handgun? [918]

Let drop it! Polish people are still too childish to take over such responsibilities, they prefer being pussies of their politics and administration :-S.

They wouldn't have thought twice and in any case there was no shortage of guns in PL back in those days.

Gun laws in the Second Polish Republic were already very strict compared to other European nations (including Germany). It was never as easy as even today in Switzerland or USA to legally obtain a gun.

Actually, they are. Topography has a lot to do with it too.

Actually, 2/3 of the country is rather plain, and great majority of industrial and population areas are in this zone.

Good luck with that.

What? Switzerland and USA had never had a tyrannic government, nor they were invaded.

History / Poland must get back Lwow, Wilno and Brest back [318]

Perhaps, it will be difficult, to justify it, as there is no significant Polish ethnic population in these areas (after massive forced population moves initiated by the Axis, finished by the Allies).

Many European countries had there border changed during history, including Poland. And, why rely only to the borders of the "short living" Second Polish Republic (1918-1939)? Are Polish people wishing their "Lebensraum"?

Likewise, per example, Austria and Hungary, Germany, Russia may retake possession of their pre-WWII territories, among others: Stettin, Gdansk, Elbing and Breslau. What a mess it would be, especially when considering that it wouldn't be possible without another war!
