Genealogy / Polish looks? [1410]

Poland is one of the blondest countries in the world at forty percent but there are also many brown haired people. The eye colour of Polish people also varies but most Polish people share similar facial features like high cheekbones and a "heart shaped" face. Even if a Polish person has blond hair and light eyes they will noy be mistaken for a Scandinavian becauase of thair features. Also they will not be misyaken for a Russian; those look more Asian and are usually more serious and Soviet.

But how did the Slavic peoples come into existence? Which region did the groups that formed them live in before they migrated? I want to find out how basically what the legend of Lech, Czech and Rus explained but in realistic terms.
