Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

i think this goes for most places in Poland, not just Warsaw. compare Poland's avg landscape to Croatia, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal......no comparison.

Think about what do you compare : a city of Warsaw then unspecified regions of Poland with some other countries . Poland landscape is also diverse and even more diverse than in such countries you have mentioned . Some of the countries have got very monotonious landscapes as a matter of fact . Poland is equally diverse as France and without any doubt more diverse than all other countries you have mentioned . Taking into account just the pure beauty Poland is a winner. Have you been to all regions of Poland . Do you know what Roztocze is , have you ever been to Bieszczady . Do you know Polish lakes region ? I guess you are just blinded and prejudicial guy, who doesn`t simply like Poland .

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

I have hosted a young newly wed couple who are my relatives from Vancouver, Canada this August. They have visited few countries cruising on Mediterranean Sea as part of their honey moon, visiting Italy, Spain and Greece. At the end of their tour they finally have come to Warsaw Poland only for 4 days. The young lady has never been in Poland before; her husband was born here so I can just describe her opinion about the country she has not known.

She managed to visit only Warsaw (city center, Old Town, Mokotów and suburbs) and Radom (granny lives there). The only thing I remember, when she was talking about her experiences in Poland was a shock. She said that she expected to see something different, but she didn`t want to elaborate on the subject ,what exactly it was what she expected, but she said that Warsaw`s Old Town is the most beautiful place she has ever seen in her life. She was totally shocked by the beauty of the cities and Polish people. Even she said Radom was also neat city , she expected some kind of a village, but she admired quite nice secession architecture of a main street of Żeromskiego and was nicely surprised .

I wonder how come a person coming from Canada can have such a distorted view about Poland . But I think by reading Globe and Mail or watching American sitcoms in TV, which are full of anti- polish stereotypes you can`t have a positive view about Poland . There is still lots of anti- polish prejudices formed by Polish Jewish diaspora, who still do so many malicious acts against Poland , spreading false images of Poland and its people . I am sure it happens all over the world ( France or British Jews act the same way ). I don`t need to mention that they are in large numbers in western media too , not only in Canada or US .

So, I am not surprised that too little tourists visit our country as our government does practically nothing to get rid of this detrimental images.

Natasa

That is just a head of the list of those who don't know the difference.

You don`t understand a point of Alllie , those poets and writers don`t come from south of Europe , is that right ? Why would they come to Poland - to meet the same climate and similar landscape ? The contrast between North and South was the main factor which attracted them . I personally don`t like southern climate and it doesnt attract me .

You must be one of them , but definitely you are just one small Poland`s hater .

Life / The nature of Polish jokes? [125]

Larry Wilde, born Herman Wildman, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the fourth child of Jewish parents Gertrude and Selig Wildman. His siblings were Milton, Benjamin and Miriam. He chose Larry Wilde as a professional name when he began a career in show business.

No wonder, this man is a Jew . Jews are the only ethnic group who spreads libel around about Polish people .

Swedes, German, Czechs, Slovakians, Russians, Americans and Brits

If you meant to say a joke this one was not so funny. But you can cite some of them coming from these ethnicities as an example . Jews tell slurs which are spread worldwide throughout their network formed by Jews settled in a specific country. So , if you hear some polish jokes in above mentioned countries they are spread by Jews at first place . This Jewish method is not new and dates prewar Poland where all those jokes were said by Polish with the only difference that instead of a Pole was a dumb Jew .

You are clearly a racist.

You are racist yourself hythorn and you don`t understand even a one word from my post . Don`t call me derogatory names as I don`t do it refering to you.

The intention of my comment was to give an explanation to your comment . Read about jewish jokes in Poland so you will learn more about the subject . If you spread some racial agenda first find out more about the subject .

Teffle you said about me

has someone tried and convicted as being a rapist already (it's "obvious" you know)

thinks Germans are dehumanised fascist robots

thinks anyone who disagrees that Poland is the best country in the universe must therefore hate Poland

Your racist comment like " Poles simply actually are more disorganised as a group than others" simply stands for who you are . Someone, who gives a general derogatory opinion about the whole nation is racist . Who gave you the right to say such thing about me? You are racist and you know that . According to you, tittle hater, I belong to a group of 38 min Polish paople who are more disorganised as a whole group more than any other nation according to you . Thats a libel .

My comments are mine opinions so having in mind our history of II world war and a thread subject , in which Polish are considered as less organised and chaotic nation when compared to Germans, who not long ago killed more than 6 million of innocent Polish civilians , my description feets in a common perception of Germans by most of the civilised world. In this case it is not a libel, because the majority of adult Germans took part in this genocide . So I don`t repeat any slur comments .

In the third thread I was saying that a prosecutor started a criminal action against the rapist I was only giving an information about the legal action . My opinion was that, if a prosecutor filed charges against this man it just meant he had gotten hard evidences , othervise he wouldnt bother to waste his time and the taxpayers money .

Don`t spread false acusations here about me .
If you are someone who cant bear the truth of history and feel offended by the truth then I am sorry for you .

the Caucasian race so Teffle can't be racist

You probably dont understand a term " racist"

"Racism" and "racial discrimination" are often used to describe discrimination on an ethnic or cultural basis.

Having read this you may know that spreading derogatory comment about another ethnic group is racist . If you dont know what ethnic group is just read more about the subject or read this :

An ethnic group (or ethnicity) is a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion) and/or an ideology that stresses common ancestry or endogamy.[1][2][3] Another definition is "...a highly biologically self-perpetuating group sharing an interest in a homeland connected with a specific geographical area, a common language and traditions, including food preferences, and a common religious faith".[4]

Members of an ethnic group are conscious of belonging to an ethnic group; moreover ethnic identity is further marked by the recognition from others of a group's distinctiveness.

Those ethnic groups formed nations long time ago, you know , and we call them Poles , Germans and others .

Travel / What can Poland do to attract more tourists? Llamas farm? [71]

If someone doesn`t want to visit such places there is no pressure . But for some people it is worth to go there .

But I think Poland needs more advertising in CNN , British and USA media showing nice and interesting places .

For example - Poland can attract older tourists, who can be invited to numerous polish spas ( Poland is very popular in this section of tourism in Germany ) or make more popular some regions like Mazury, which is really excellent for tourists who like nature and is praised especially by those who like yachting or boating .

I admit that English should be more commonly used in Poland , in some areas it is hard to communicate with Polish people , older people don`t speak English at all . In general the foreign language abilities should be imroved to attract more tourists .

Polmed can sell Poland for the Tourist Board, right polmed?

Yes , I enjoy that job , very engaging . Most of the time I have to colour in things , lol .

Love / Polish Women Versus Your Local Women ? [289]

I know a dozen or so stunning Polish women who've married flat unnatractive, uninteresting, usually much older men that just HAPPEN to be wealthy.

And this happens just strictly in Poland . Polish women are into money like any other nationality , is that right ? It is just so boring to hear that stuff . I think all shallow but pretty are like that anywhere and Poland is not a lonely island .

Life / Automobiles vs. Pedestrians in Poland [77]

Nothing is so frustrating as taking common views from nowhere ( in Polish z "du*y ) like

Poland is the number 1 most dangerous.

But maybe some of you just go first through statistics which say something different .

First note that nb of persons injured in compared countries is as follows :

w3.unece.org/pxweb/dialog/Saveshow.asp?lang=1
w3.unece.org/pxweb/dialog/Saveshow.asp?lang=1
w3.unece.org/pxweb/dialog/Saveshow.asp?lang=1

then you calculate that data per capita where population is as follows : Poland -38 min , Germany 82 mln , UK 60 mln, France 63 )

Then you calculate the ratio per 1000 people and you have a stats :

number of persons injured in road accidents per 1000 people is in compared countries :

Poland - 1.47
France - 1.44
UK -3.82
Germany - 4.84

So , Poland is not as dangerous as Germany or UK , it is as safe as France .

So , don`t make comments like this - " Poland is s**t ,uncivilized, undeveloped , etc. because we know it is or it should be , because we know better ".

Life / Automobiles vs. Pedestrians in Poland [77]

I dont know why those above links don`t work , there are other links from that webpage , you can easily find proper data :
w3.unece.org/pxweb/database/STAT/40-TRTRANS/01-TRACCIDENTS/?lis ttype=detail&sortBy=filename&sort_order=asc

w3.unece.org/pxweb/dialog/varval.asp?ma=01_TRAccprofile_r&path= ../database/STAT/40-TRTRANS/01-TRACCIDENTS/&lang=1&ti=Number+of+i njury +accidents%2C+killed+and+injured

First click the space of -"number of injured in road accidents ", then chose a country and the latest year which is 2009 , it is easy to find out .

I do not believe that for a single second.

You don`t have to , I know you are too stupid to comprehend .

Life / Automobiles vs. Pedestrians in Poland [77]

Does Poland have as many cars per 1,000 people as the UK or Germany?

Taking your reasoning into account , does Poland have the same income per capita as the United Kingdom or Germany. No.

So, your reasoning does not allow us at all to compare Poland against Germany and the UK, because it is not possible. In Poland this net income per capita is 4 times smaller than in those countries.

So you have to divide the number of cars per capita by 4 , then you will get a reasonable data to compare .

But this index of accidents is statistically positive for Poland . Considering that the incidents relate to drivers and pedestrians, therefore the number of cars is not only one important factor , because in these cases also pedestrians attended. This indicator for Germany is four times worse than for Poland .

Let's see what experts have to say about Poland, The Global Road Safety Partnership might be a good place to start:

What is it? A profit sharing corp?

My data comes form this : unece.org/about-unece.html
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) was set up in 1947 by ECOSOC. It is one of five regional commissions of the United Nations.

UNECE's major aim is to promote pan-European economic integration. To do so, it brings together 56 countries located in the European Union, non-EU Western and Eastern Europe, South-East Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and North America. All these countries dialogue and cooperate under the aegis of UNECE on economic and sectoral issues. . However, all interested United Nations member States may participate in the work of UNECE. Over 70 international professional organizations and other non-governmental organizations take part in UNECE activities.

Whose source is more reliable ?

Life / Automobiles vs. Pedestrians in Poland [77]

The graph shows that Poland has three times as many people per million inhabitants killed in road accidents than the UK (despite having few cars per million people).

Giving only death fatalities data doesn`t show the overall view, because it shows only that rescue forces can`t come in time to save lifes of those injured thanks to poverty and other factors which you can`t blame drivers for . Only data showing number of accidents is valuable if it comes to road safety . In Germany there are less fatal accidents for sure per capita , but it doesn`t depend on the skills of drivers or great caution of pedestrians . The density and the equipement of hospitals matters more in such cases .
