Life / Why oh Why do Poles drive so incredibly poorly [100]

is it drink Pawian? Have you started early?
It's really odd coming to a forum where people give their opinions, to give an opinion, only to be told that you are here to 'present the black side of your miserable life'.

Projection perhaps.

yes, well that bit is true. Again, it's fact. If one sees that shaved head and little roll of neckfat on the bod behind the wheel, one hangs back..:)

Look i am not saying that Polish are the ONLY bad drivers in the UK, but if there were a 'top ten' they would be up there, along with Indian geriatrics. I am quite sure that in India at some point in the past, one just bought a licence, with no test..

Are you misunderstanding me wilfully Pawian? We know some English run riot when abroad. Me denying that is like you denying that some Polish drivers are atrocious, and arrogant with it.

Sex (not gender) has everything to do with being dismissed as 'hysterical' and 'having a mental condition'.just because you have an opinion. Check your arrogant responses.

I dont come here to present the black side of anyone's miserable life, thank you. My life is far from miserable. I was responding to the thread title, because it IS an issue round here, sorry if you dont care for facts and the reality of other peop-le's lives in countries where you dont live.

It's like if some Polish person said that they were upset by the English drinking too much in Krakow. I wouldnt tell them it was their imagination and they they were quite wrong about the English, because it is their lived experience

Pawian, in the course of this conversation you have dismissed my lived experience as 'imagination' ' my bad day' 'forgetfulness' and 'hysteria', and that i 'have a mental condition'. Just WTF?

I have really hit a nerve haven't I?
Would you talk to another man like that? I dont think so.
Get a grip of your responses and some self awareness.

I am merely reporting what i have observed, in the country where I , you know..live.

why? because there are so many Polish drivers round here. Local slaughterhouse y'see. Attracts them like wasps to a sugar pot.
Other reasons i cannot go into here.

highly possible they are just private opinions, not neccesarily based on true facts.

i might be slightly biased, I admit, but in my wide driving experience Polish drivers in the UK are fecking awful, with little consideration for other road users.

I don't hang back/ resist overtaking for fun, or because of my "imagination", or '"my bad day" (whatever that means?)

No, it is for practical and real reasons.

There, is that better?

oh lay off the smoke, Pawian.
Milo and I see Polish drivers on a daily basis and it's no fun.
Strangely it is never Polish women at the wheel, only men...:)
I suppose I could do some academic research into it, but I doubt I would get the funding, tbh.

No, you are again imagining things. :)): It is your bad day today.

no, I am merely reporting what i have regularly observed as a long term driver in the UK. Sorry if that hurts your feelz but i cant help that , nor do I care.

If Polish drivers cannot adjust to driving on the correct side of the road for the country they are in, then they shouldnt drive, frankly. I have driven in Czechia and whining 'ooh i am not used to it' is no excuse for poor driving.

And frankly Pawian, you DO sound very arrogant, as ever, just dismissing my experience as 'imagination and forgetfulness'...what kind of response is that?

Not sure where you have stayed Lenka, maybe West Wales...? :D Mostly our motorways and A roads are pretty good.

who drives in the UK? you or me?
oh yes , it is me. Hardly my imagination.
Your comments merely back up what i said about arrogance.
Maybe some Polish drivers dont think that UK driving rules apply to them, i dont know.

is it? why?

I think that Poland must have the lowest driving standards in Europe, from what I have seen.

And yet at the same time, some of the most arrogant drivers. I am honestly curious about it.

oh no we don't have to do that in the UK. There are plenty of foreign plates, and they are fine. It is just the Polish ones that really need avoiding.

Or perhaps it is the mentality, I dont know.

I think the test must be an incredibly low standard, tbh. I believe, for example, that the test requires action on a skid pan. What a waste of time, that wd be better spent learning about observations and consideration for other drivers, neither of which seem to exist in Polish driver training.

If i am driving here in the UK I would never overtake a truck with Polish plates, as they have zero awareness of or care about their massive blind spot, and if I see a car with Polish plates, I will hang back or even take a different route so i don't have to drive anywhere near them.

I am not being nasty, just honest.

Do you change times for winter and spring?

yes, the clocks changed on saturday night. Something to do with giving farmers more daylight, apparently.

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

There was me, another English lad, and a Latvian running around for 12 hours a

frankly, you were lucky to be even taken on. Our local meat facttory send recruitment teams to Romania and Bulgaria, while HR ( a Polish woman) routinely ignores applications from Brits, even while there is a massive sign outside saying 'we're hiring'. Might as well say 'we're hiring, but not Brits'.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1400]

I am sad because the Polski Sklep has closed down in A., this town in Wales where I am now. Thanks Brexit.
Luckily the one in C. is still open. I buy Silesian style sourdough bread, rye sourdough , kefir, sauerkraut, and cherryJaffa cakes.
British style bread just doesn't compare. Although we do have some good baked goods in the old fashioned bakeries.

but johnny, expecting meat to have fibre in it, and whinging about its lack, is just weird. if you want fibre, eat a bowl of Kelloggs cornflakes, or pencil sharpenings, as they taste similar.

and if anyone is embarrassing themselves here on this forum, it is you. Just saying.

Sadly we do not have those either. Just a skip with holes to toss the glass into. It can be fun though.

oh we have that food waste thing here in Wales - but not in all parts of England.
There is a food waste bin with biodegradable liners - plus blue bags for recyclables, and black bags for everything else.
In fact once you have separated out the food waste and the recyclables, and taken the glass to the glass bank, there is very little to put in the black bins..

much as the converse on occasion in your English!

that doesn't even make sense. Perhaps stop trying to be pompous and you will find it easier to express yourself in a more understandable way.

Love / Polish women care about traditional values [34]

iremember in other cities than warsaw men would drink gamble and women would still remain loyal just like ukrainain women do.

it's called being 'desperate' - hardly a situation to aspire to, for goodness sake. At least then, in Poland, now women can dump their sorry ass drinking and gambling husbands and make a life without him. That is called 'progress'.
