Wealthy Americans, those making above 200K USD per year number in the millions. And they spend more money on one vacation than many Poles earn in a year. Thats not bragging, its really unfortunate. Two weeks in Europe is easily a 20K USD adventure without spending freely. Americans with stupid credit card limits will spend much more than that.

Where TF did you come up with the idea of Poles spending more money than Americans visiting Europe? There is zero data to support that claim. My exxperience is that Poles in general when traveling anywhere outside of Poland are usually being very thrifty with their spending. It sure isn't Poles filling up four and five star hotels, or ording the expensive bottles of wine at the nicest restaurants. The European economy would be in big trouble without American tourism, as loud and ignorant as they can be.

The hole in the budget is not mainly from lockdowns. It is from too much 800+, too much money to Ukraine, and not enough regular tax collection. Eventually people are going to figure out that you cant cut taxes for some, and give away money to others, and still make budgets work.

Poland is following along the taxation stupidity that the US has been implementing since WW2 ended. There is no way to tax a country into prosparity. Thankfully the President has said he will veto some of these new taxes. The depositis on plastic and glass bottles will only help the homeless get more money for more alcohol, so its like giving them a pay raise.

Your thoughts on retirement age for Poland are absolutely correct. Retiring is making a decision to slowly rot away mentally and physically. Agree on the Euro as well. USD is a lot easier to use effectively here and the zloty should never go away for many reasons. Every country should take pride in their currency, it is not just money, it is a symbol of pride, and for Poland represents the history of the country. I like what he had to say yesterday and in his campaign. No migrants, modernize the military, stick to the zloty, and keep Poland safe. I like the fact that he is not afraid to tell anyone to FO. Maybe he is rough around the edges, but I think Poland needs that and not another soft politician who wants to make photos appear as though he is actually doing something. While I know Tusk has the most power, you could see the misery on his face yesterday and it was priceless. The death march toward the Euro is stopped, and he has a real strong President to deal with. Duda was a strong PiS ally, but Nawrocki is a very strong person with his own ideas and doesnt strike me as a politician in the way that Duda is.

My Polish allows me to survive if I am someplace that they dont speak English. I struggle with the speed in which most Poles speak, and depending on the region the different words used, or pronounced.
